so i was considering getting rid of my small 16 g but have been told that i can attain the 300-350whp i desire. Check my vehicle description for current mods. I now am looking to seriously upgrade and my next purchase will be 550 or 660 inectors and from there i am unsure of what i should do. I will be rewiring my 190 fuel pump also. So i am really looking for helpful advice, but also people who have the small 16g turbo and run over 300whp or know someone who has and to tell me what they are running. thanks

Go to the vfaq, or the upgrade path, it's very doable. I can name a few off my head: intake, 3"exhaust, no cat, 680cc injectors, fuel pump+rewire, mbc to 15psi,port intake and exhaust manifolds and 02housing (very simple D.I.Y), some kind of quality tuning, if that doesnt get you there then MAGNUS intake manifold, maf+maf-t, and you should definetly be there. These are all bolt ons but you can even go into internals but that'll b overkill. Also if you're upgrading all that shiz then get a ACT2600 clutch and Fidanza flywheel and any clutch type LSD (quaife if you have $$$, but KAAZ will do).

Getting 300whp is very doable with a 16g if you tune properly and of course do proper maintenance.

forgot to add, get an fmic and more efficient rad.

nah. a Supra SMIC is more than enough for his goals. if you do upgrade to a bigger smic, you won't need to worry about your radiator overheating because of a fmic. i would also suggest porting the turbo, too. just go crazy. you can make well over Lordpaxin's claim of 320hp if you do a thorough port job. don't forget internals and drivetrain.

im sure you want the easiest and most cost efficent way towards 300 though. but just to give you an idea that having a certain turbo and the manufacture's claims on the turbo's max power means little when you start factoring in other components.

small 16 will get to 300 wheel horse power. What you will need it the bigger injectors, I would go with the 650's and then something to tune. Cheapest would probably be an SAFC for around $200-250. I am currently running a T-28 with 650's, SAFCII and have 300 All wheel horse power.

cams will get you there faster. I'm with you though, I want to see how much I can get out of the s16g to. You will need cams, upgrade your ic, injectors, pump&rewire, port everything, 3"turbo back(catless) and a smim and maft if you want to completly max it out

At least I wasn't the only one thinking that. I don't know what's up with this crazy of everyone thinking they need a SMIM.

or get a 1g intake manifold, but make sure to port your 2g head to match those ports.

For that, you should just swap out your whole head for a 1G -get a 92-94, better cooling lines.
Personally, max the fuel system for your desire and budget. bigger injectors, higher octane (if your lucky), tuning computer ( DSMlink, SAFC, GReddy e-manage), port everything you can- the head, the turbo, the exhaust manifold, the o2 housing. Get either a Supra SMIC, or just go for a FMIC. 3inch exhaust, no cat. GET SOME GAUGES!

hard intake and other obviuos things- the 2G BOV is crap!,

make sure your car and drvietrain are up to the power increase.

if your on a tight budget, most things can be found used or made, go to an exhaust shop , for piping, etc..- used parts can be found here, and on craigslist or similiar.

i did my small 16g on a budget and made out pretty well. all i did was injectors(650s), safc2, alllll the free mods, hard intake pipe, manual boost controller, and for fun a 3 inch side exit exhaust, as long as you have a good inspection sticker, get rid of that car, that would free up some HP too.

Man i just recently put the magnus smim and i have felt huge gains on the top end from about 4600 to redline and all i have is the s16g. Used to it would die off around 6200 now it does not stop i have almost hit rev limiter several times. I mean i am not totally stock but i am running that s16g to the max. I am hopefully going to the dyno to see where i am at from my previous numbers. But i should be near 320-340 awhp if not over. On my last dyno i had a big crack on my intercooler and at 16psi (on pump 91) in denver colorado i got that 299 awhp and since then i have done the ported 2g exhaust manifold, ported 02, magnus smim, the 255lph fuel pump, the aeromative fuel pressure regulator, a maf-t, fixed the boost leaks, and got a new tial bov. This next time i dyno will be at 18psi on pump. Thats where i am at right now my air to fuel ratio is at 11.5 to 1 and i have 0 knock through redline. That smim if you have the money is no waste of cash. That thing, at least to me, was a dream.
