Need advice on making 300+ WHP

Hey guys i have a 91 eclipse GSX with a stock block that idles perfect.....so far the parts i have are
Greddy Type s BOV
like 3" downpipe to exhaust
and mayb a 16g turbo not sure tho havent looked at it yet

was wondering what size injectors and what kind of turbo i need
i got about $1000 to spend on parts then i have to save up for DSMlink and tuning

heres what im for sure getting:

Walbro 255lph Fuel pump
Vr speed factory 1g FMIC

any other programming and tuning gauges stuff that i need add in as well please idk what GM maf's and MafT's are for or do
 
I highly suggest getting ECMLink FIRST. Also, do as stated above and have the guys at ECMLink do it. Their service is top notch.

For reference, I'm aiming for a little under 300 whp and my mods will be as follows:
Small 16G
3000GT VR-4 fuel pump
Denso 720cc injectors
ECMLink v3
VRSF FMIC
Innovate LC-1 Wideband
Stock boost control solenoid modified for use with ECMLink
SBC Stage 2 HD-O clutch
Full turboback exhaust
Prothane front and rear roll stop inserts

Along the way I found that one of the cam bearings in the cylinder head that came with the car was trashed, forcing me to find a replacement cylinder head. Make sure you do proper maintenance first! Don't mod your car if it's burning/leaking oil all over the place.
 
It's not worth it to have a buddy do it. ECMLink does it (socketing) for $40 and runs diagnostics on the ECU to make sure it works correctly as well as replacing the caps in most cases. If your ECU must be EPROM converted, your buddy can't help you at all as there is nowhere to solder the socket/chip to begin with. Go through ECM Tuning for everything ECU related and you'll never have any issues. As for DSMLink, look in the classifieds. $425 new is a bit steep and Lite can be found for half that in the classifieds. For 300-400hp, you won't need anything more than the Lite version anways. And you can always upgrade in the future for the price difference between the two.

Also, stay away from any Ebay parts when it comes to engine parts. If it were a catch can or intercooler piping, then they are usually OK. But for something like timing components, go with OEM or Gates. Oreilly Auto Parts (maybe some others) carries Gates complete timing kits for around $100 and they are very nice for the price.

dangit i wish i would of read this before ordering i just now ordered ecmlink and didnt select the socket eprom ecu....how can you tell if you have an eprom or not???

and ECMLink V3 lite
and 14b turbo how am i looking?
 
Looks to me like your ready to start hunting down 300hp. I would suggest gettin the most out of your stock tune as possible before turning up the boost. It will help you get familiar with DSMLink. Then just start turning up the boost and watching for knock!
 
have a question. i never had my car dynoed or ran at the tracks. i wanna know if anyone can help me find accurate specs on my 96 talon tsi awd turbo. i have a stock 7 bolt with about 7k miles on it on pump gas 92. i have a 16g big turbo with a 38mm external wastegagte. 18psi, ets fmic, 3 inch turbo back exhaust, tubular exhaust manifold, larger o2 housing, fp intake, greddy type s bov recirculated, hks air filter, 255 wally fuel pump, larger injectors,dsm link tuned, 2step at 4k, anti lag. i am getting the tune and fuel system done real soon and want to know what power to expect and quarter mile time

oh yeah ac delete, horn delete, rear seat and trunk delete. stock wheels and suspension as well

stock trans and axles, 5 speed, everything runs great
