I just purchased this intank pump for my 2g,anyone try it yet on a dsm?

:hmm: I hadn't heard about this until now. I did however notice that it flows a lot at low pressure, but as the pressure goes up the flow peters off a bit, so be aware of that if you are going to be pushing it hard. Take a look here... There are a couple charts that might be helpful. Good luck!:)

Walbro 400 LPH in-tank Fuel Pump E85 Gas

I'm going to have to upgrade to this but here's what I've read from a Buschur post, it pushes about 276LPH @70psi with the filter on at 13.2 volts. Buschur showed how filter on vs off showed a restriction so you could compare the charts with a little more accuracy.

It's a volts lover, give it the Juice and it will flow. It's definitely stronger than the DW301 I currently run, that thing is barely better than the Walbro 255 IMO.

Who cares if it flows a million lph at 40psi, if it can't flow 300 at 80psi. The big boost kids quickly run out of fuel because of how fast the pressure drops as the boost rises. A 255 would be plenty for most if it didn't fall off, instead we have to put pumps in series. That pumps not even big enough for just my lil 1150's at 40psi boost. While a pair of 255hp's in series would theoretically have more flow at at 40psi, yet less flow at 0psi boost so there would not be as much fpr overrun.

The walbro 400lph flows approx. 60% more fuel than a walbro 255lph HP pump does at 80psi. From the local Evo's I have seen, they can make an average of 425whp (E85) on the local Mustang Dynos before running out of fuel pump. 60% more flow is a big jump. Let's theoretically say the 60% increase in fuel flow only allows us to be able to take an advantage of a 30% increase in power (due to drop off, injector, whatever), that still gives the ability to make 550whp on E85 on a single pump that will drop right into a dsm. I have one in my car and will be posting a thread about some info I just found out first hand. Take it for what it's worth...the pump is awesome!

I have thaught about this pump as well. But being as it sucks at the higher numbers, I went with two wally 255. It seems like a new pump and theres not much out there about it. So I would rather do something thats been done rather than something new.

twin in-tank walbro 255 pumps will flow approx. 320-330lph of fuel at 75psi. The 400lph walbro flows 285lph at 80psi. If you are on E85 and less than 550whp (expected) the single 400lph will be plenty. If you are planning race gas, I've seen as high as 597whp made on race gas and a single 255lph walbro...so you might be able to get to 800whp or so on a single 400lph pump and race gas.

I don't see how 800 is doable with this pump. But just because I don't see it dont mean it cant be done. One Wally could get almost 600hp but two Wally will make it easier. The way I see it is why ask the question when other things have been done before.

To me, dropping in a single pump is way easier than two pumps...regardless if they are both in-tank or in-series. If the pump flows 60% more at 80psi than a walbro 255lph pump, and your base pressure is 40psi, then at 40psi of boost, you have 60% more fuel than a single walbro 255 pump. To go from 600 to 800 horsepower is an increase of 33% in power...so the fuel is there.

What's killing me is I can't decide between a single Wally 400 or a inline bosch 044 with a 255hp intake.

Does anybody know if their walbro 400 came with the rubber grommett that goes on the bottom of the fuel pump and the bracket. Mine didnt come with one, just wondering what you guys did.
