I am wondering how you can boost the voltage output from the alternator. On the GM delphi alternators you put a resistor on one of the leads to the VR. I have never taken a mitz alternator apart or know how these VR are diffferent from the GM.

I am looking for around 17-18 volts, I have a racing battery that is 16 volts and it does have a 12 volt post off the battery for the ecu stuff. I just don't want to spend $300 on the 16 volt alternator and charger. I know there is a way I just can't find it.

I played with one earlier and found it wont go much more than 15 volts .
The feed back to the alt is on pin 1 on the alt plug the one close to the engine putting some resistance there will bring up the voltage some but it must have a built feed back to prevent high voltage output in case of wire damadge .It put out the most whith this wire off (15-16 ). So it would not be enough to realy help on charging the 16 volt batt .
