Hey all, I searched my heart out looking for an answer but I havent come up with anything like my problem. I was replacing some bulbs with led's (cig lighter, ashtray light, ignition ring), and while i was installing the led into the ignition ring, the light was intermittent.

So, I proceeded to take a pair of metal tweezers (bad idea) and push the connector inside the bulb holder back so it would make solid contact, in the process, I shorted across the tweezers which caused my horn to blip, and my radio to reset to demo mode. As well as my ignition light refusing to turn off :notgood:

I checked fuses and the open door sensors and they are all working fine, any ideas? Did I fudge up big time?

EDIT: the light shuts off when the engine is running, but as soon as its off, the light is on.

I sure did, the 10 amp fuse for the interior lights was intact, i pulled it to see what all ran to it, and every light, (including the ignition light) went off, so its not that :(

I just walked out and checked every fuse in the car, theyre all intact. does this light have a longer time before it shuts off than the other lights? This whole thing just doesn't add up.

try starting the car close the door and see if it shuts it off. If im right and i should be that light should go off.

It does go off when the engine is running and the doors are shut, however when I turn the engine off, the light returns, and doesnt go away. Thats whats got me stumped.

maybe it has a delay on it. my battery is dead right now so im just going from what i know.

So it stays on even after closing everything and letting it sit for more than a few seconds? I know it stays on longer, but it should fade off soon enough.

To be clear the ignition light is the only one that stays on?

Correct, the ignition light stays on long (talking 10 or 20 minutes before I took the light back out) after everything is closed and off. Also, yes its just the one light around the ignition, nothing else. Although I noticed my seatbelt light is on, but rather dim which its never done. im not sure if this has anything to do with me shorting across that bulb holder.
