Very serious question about an engine swap

ok... very serious question.. best if i start with what i have i guess, i drive a 91 eclipse gs with the 1.8 first thing i've decided im gonna do is swap for a 4G63-T aight i got the number from this site to call it was 888-221-1440 or somethin like that can't remember name of company neways they said they'd sell me the motor, wiring harness, and ecu for $1450 that's $200 less than
J-Spec wanted ok i asked them about a transmission they said that the transmission from my 1.8 would work... i don't see that happening considering they ARE different trannies (i know this cause i ripped the shifter cable outta the 1.8 red light racing a toyota pickup, guess i shift too hard and they had to reorder my cable twice cause they kept gettin sent the one for the 2.0) so will the tranny work? or does nebody really know?

Can't answer for sure, but I do know that a manual tranny off a 94 1.8 is a direct bolt up with a non turbo 4G63. Given this i will bet you won't have any probs.... although i believe I read somewhere that you will need a different clutch....

Buddy of mine just tried replacing the tranny in his turboed talon with one from a 1.8, he said it wouldn't fit, so I'm going to say no.

The turbo motor uses a bigger flywheel than a nt. To use the nt tranny you will have to use the nt clutch. I have been researching this to. The only difference I thought in the shifter cables was in the model year 90 and 91-94.

No you aren't. A few short searches will explain to you why it won't work.
