very detailed way to break a brand new top and bottom end in?

I am just trying to find out the best way to break a new motor in. I have read thread after thread and they all say different ways. not to get on to it then some say to get on to it some.Some say to let it run 30 minutes some say not to. Just trying to get it figured out. And make sure i do it the right way? Any help is thankful!

but what about boost levels? should you keep it low for the first break-in or are we supposed to be running full boost too? im talking like 30+ psi

Do not just hop in and toss full boost at the engine, but DO allow it to build boost. If you do not allow it to build boost then the rings will never seat properly. This does not mean 30PSI, but more variable between 10PSI - 20PSI. Variable speeds. Variable gears. Variable Loads. Variable RPM ranges.

Just passed 2000 miles on my break in and I'm seeing consistant 168's accross the board w/ mbc turned all the way down. I've done the granny method and have now tried the "hot rod" method now, and I actually favor the "hot rod" method. I feel the engine being very strong and am very satisfied. Plus there was no problems with compression on this method. The granny method, it took a little longer for me to have consistant compression across the board.
