Venting Excess Oil Through CAI...

i was refilling my oil yesterday and noticed that oil had seeped all the way down my intake pipe and stained through the filter... i dont have a breather intalled so the pcv-valve is still dumping directly into the intake. ive always had a bit of oil in the intake pipe which to my understanding was normal. could this be something serious like a bad piston ring? any suggestions on different scenarios that could cause this? i will be doing a compression test tommorow to see what those results turn up....

Is it burning oil too? I had this problem and it was my valve guides. Try replacing the pcv valve also.

no its not burning oil which is why i didnt think it was the piston rings... after i do the compression test, if its all good, ill change the pcv valve and see if that helps

you should just replace the pcv valve its only 6 bucks and that's probably the problem if you aren't burning oil.

i'm turbo but had the same oil in the breather. it was not my pcv valve but could be yours. mine was a ring but if it is a ring you will know cause your car will run real real real shitty.

If your rings go, you probably won't burn oil. When your rings go, your oil pressure will climb because of the blow-by. You burn oil when a head gasket, valve seal, or something like that goes.

I had oil comming out my breather filter really bad. I assumed it was my valve seals causeing blow-by under the valve cover. I should have looked at my oil pressure. It was 75psi...way above normal. If I would have thought about it, I wouldn't have just ripped the head apart...

Run a comression test and a leak down test and see what you come up with.
