vafc...yes vafc!! quick ?? I searched!

I can get a hold of a vafc for free through a friend. Will it work on my car as long as i dont connect the v tec stuff? (97 gst).

I searched, some people said yes others no but gave no reasons why not.

i see no reason why it wouldnt work, iv installed several AFC's, and a couple VAFC's, and the wiring is exactly the same except for the vtec wires. i even used the wiring diagram for my AFC when installing a vafc in my buddys prelude cause his manuals were completly in japanese, and i knew which wire was his vtec.

its all exactly the same, right down to the wire colors. it should work just like an afc in your car, since a vafc is just an afc with a vtec controler built in.

Yes, it will work. Its the exact same as an SAFC it just adds a VTEC wire.

Why not just sell it, and use the money for a sexy s-afc II?

It won't work. There is no setting for a Karman Vortex type MAF sensor. Also, there are 3 specific VTEC wires... VTEC solenoid, VTEC oil switch and VTEC pressure switch.

Its an SAFC w/ VTEC wires. Ive seen a VTEC controller in a DSM w/ my own 2 eyes. It WILL work.

I just wired in a VAFC into a 90 gsx

And oddly enough i'm looking for an SAFC to put in my car for some quick tweaks....
And i have teh uber veetack!


/edit: that makes me sound like an idiot n00b ricer; it was supposed to be funny. I'm putting the VAFC in my car as soon as i find an SAFC to repalce the afc in my friends eclipse. I won't use the VTEC switch though because I can change the VTEC engagement points via my EMS

Does it support karman?, or only map? I can get on right now for 50 so just wondering..

Hate to bump such an old thread but no one responded to this question. Does anyone else have experience from a vafc original installation and use in a ,DSM.
I have two I purchase for under $100.
I plan on installing either the original or vafc-ii. But I get conflicting reports.
