i have recently had a motor installed in my 91 AWD Talon and they didn't have any info on doing the vacuum lines it runs good for the most part but is boosting up to 20 psi if boost gauge is reading right and then it cuts out bad. and i haven't even gone threw a full gear before it cuts out unless i feather the gas,but i tried to tie in a manual boost controller and bypassed factory one but now its worse boost is instant almost and cut out is bad if i eliminate all the ones it says to in taboo speed shop am is it going to actually run good as a daily driver still as i need the car to drive out of town for school every day i would like it to be running properly?please any assistance would be amazing i have a turbo smart boost controller, blitz bov, fidanza flywheel and centerforce clutch i also find it drops to a low rpm and sometimes stalls in sudden stops.

For starters do the taboo thing unless you have to pass smog where you are. It might fail on a visual. I did it to my daily driver abd have had no problems. As for the boost controller I dont know the turbo smart ones but is it a needle and seat design or a ball and spring? The needle and seat ones dont work well you need to have one with a ball and spring setup. I think if you check vfaq.com there is a right up on how to make one for like $10.00 with parts from a hardware store of it may be here on tuners. Just search for DIY boost controller. Try this and see if it helps and get rid of the vacuum lines if you can. It really cleans things up too. Travis

Getting rid of the vacumn lines is the best thing you can do to help eliminate the clutter and chance of having a boost leak. Sounds like your hitting fuel cut, if your running 20 psi that is probably why, you have supporting mods to warrant running so much boost?

Take off all the vacuum lines and just run ones to what you need (fpr, bov, wategate, boost gauge etc.). Sounds like you are hitting fuel cut. What mods do you have? The stalling at sudden stops could be a bad isc motor. Test that the way your haynes manual describes. You do have a haynes manual right?
