Hey Guys,

1) I have a problem, it seems as if the Smell from the engine bay is coming thru the AC Vents, it's put to recirculate so it shouldn't be inhaling it. Could it be the tubes circled in Yellow in the picture below? Should i put something to close them?

2) I had an electrical problem which was causing the idle to be horrible, i had it fixed and the idle problem was fixed up to a 90% but there is still something causing the rest, i was wondering if it has anything to do with the lack of vacuum hoses (highlighted in red) or the re-circulation of it (also highlighted in red).

I have a 16G turbo, Manual Boost Controller, NO Boost Gauge installed.

Yellow are just heater hose connections attached to the heater core. The red circlled hoses (looks like you have a 1990 or at least a 1990 TB) are ok they might need clamps or zip ties as they are just not being used by your car. Looks like the FPS isn't being used either....basically the same way my car is. I notice you have no idle stop switch also. The ECU uses it to show throttle is completely closed but you can run without it with Link.

His thottle body is a '90 model. They have 2 on top and 2 on the side (TPS side). Your throttle body is '91 or newer and they have 4 on top.

Ok, thanks for the info, I thought I had a '90 throttle body because the previous owner replaced my engine.

Thats how I noticed, it was the 2 vacuum ports instead of 4. The '90 uses two different size seals, one large one on the throttle linkage side and a smaller one on the TPS side. Just did mine a few weeks back. I have the part numbers listed in another post but here they are:

The '91 and newer use the large seal on both sides which is the 3930.

Hey guys,

Thank you. I will be doing a boost leak this weekend, along with connecting some sensors that are disconnected. I will let you know as it is possible that I have a leak, since the car starts boosting @5,000rpm

No boost at all until 5000...you probably have a leak. I have to check my couplers all the time, its a ritual now. That is why I have a VRSF FMIC, less couplers on the short route kit. But thats my opinion. My boost comes in late but its at full boost (19lbs right now) by 4500ish.

That's not a 90 TB. Its a JDM Throttle body which only has the 2 ports on top(not sure why). You can see the "P" port on the TB it just isn't tapped for the factory fitting.

Also, being a 2G the throttle closed switch is built into the TPS.

Good catch on that! I've never seen a JDM TB so just assumed (you no what that does) it was a 90. That is also why I noticed no throttle switch. I didn't see his car profile so wasn't sure what model the car itself was.
