While I am driving, I can smell this burning smell, almost overwheliming. Sometimes while stopped, I can see smoke. I have opened the hood after driving and after experiencing these problems to watch for smoke, but I can never see any. I do not think it is related but randomly when slowing down or stopping, the car will almost stall then pick back up and be fine. The CEL comes on when it is about to stall, but no other lights that normall come on when it stalls or before you start a car, but then goes away once it picks back up. I never see my temp gauge go up at all so I don't think it is a cooland leak. What should I check?

Yeah, sounds like a good idea, I guess I will go fill up my air tank and just take off the valve cover. If this is the problem, it sounds like this will be the first problem that I will have to suck it up and take it to the dealership. Out of my realm of automotive work.

Dealership wants $890 for labor!!

LOL On a slightly funny note, is $890 worth it to make you more mechanically knowledgable?? It would me!

^^^ Not off the truck.LOL. Yes leaks can get very involved, specially since the weakest link will always leak. For oil leaks, I like to start from top to bottom. valve cover, cam seals, blah blah blah, and work your way down like that.smoke from the hood, usually means oil falling onto he exhaust. smoke from the tailpipe is another story, Like oldman said, might be the valve seals. without looking at it, this is the best I could do. I can always roll the diagnostic dice and see what they say. :p.
Good luck, keep us posted.
