So my question is can the 1g BOV be used with a 16g and PR FMIC? Planning on running 20psi eventually, but only 14-15 for the moment. I've read the BOV needs to be an aftermarket and I've read you can use the stock one up to 17psi. What's the correct answer??

^^ To be safe? What? When the 1g valve is proven to hold more boost than any 16g can make?

When modified the stock valve can hold 30psi+. It will flow more than enough for a 16g. Where did you read you need an aftermarket valve? For 2G's this is true, for 1G's it is not.

Time to upgrade man.:D to be on the safe side

Fail :banghead:

The 1g BOV is an upgrade for the 2g. With modifications it can hold a ton of boost. There is no reason to get a different BOV unless you are going for looks or sound.

First off what is the dodge mod? Sorry I am at work and don't have access to a computer to look up a lot. I'm using my phone.

And there's a thread called "stock boost" that I read about needing to upgrade the BOV. I don't care about the sound and all, I'm going to run a dumped O2 housing and open DP anyways so chances of me hearing it..... LOL

Also, what is everyone using for the recirc tube? Since ill have short route, I need different tubing...

Not sure how it works on the 1g but i'm using the 1g bov on my short route intercooler piping and my recirc tube works just find. if you can search on the "dodge garage mod" you'll find tons of how to do and it what it does. 1g bov ftw imho :thumb:

Recirc tube can be as simple as junkyard radiator hoses (that's what mine were, before speed density :D) all the way up to mandrel bent polished aluminum doo-dads. There is almost no pressure in the intake tube, so anything that doesn't have a split in it will do. Doing a pre-turbo leak test my JB weld and radiator hose recirc tube held 25psi. The PVC BLT popped off before I could go higher.

Well when I get up there to 20 ill crush or do the Dodge mod. Until then hopefully I'm OK.

Quick question....why are some people's 1G BOV's green instead of black??

OK, so if I got flexible radiator hose, it wouldn't affect anything (since it has ribs)? I don't want it to hurt flow or anything....don't see why it would but just want to make sure.

Once again i feel extremely dumb:banghead::banghead: thought it was a 2G. this is a bad thread for me.

We all have those days bro. But take a look at my username...and my avatar...oh and right under that it says 91 Talon TSi AWD. LOL

All_Boost16G, what's wrong with your Greddy BOV?

right now im using a evo MR bov. How will that hold up to boost? i also have the regular evo 8 bov too.

1g bov's come from the factory with the green top, if it is black someone has painted it.

As everyone has been saying you will be perfectly fine with the 1g bov. I'm running 18 psi on my virgin 1g bov and it holds solid. I've got a box full of them for replacements if one ever fails.

The 1g bov can be used with the PR kit, as the flange on the piping is pre-drilled for both 1g and greddy bov flanges. The 1g bov can handle 20 psi fine with a little bit of crushing.

Maybe the BOV isn't factory then....but nobody has touched this car. It has original everything, so I don't know why it'd be black. Looks like it came that way. I'll have to snap a pic.
