Upgrading factory speaker system

I am upgrading my factory speaker system of my 97 Dodge Avenger to 6.5 component speakers with tweeters and 6x9 coaxials in the rear deck powered by a 4 channel amp my question is how do I proceed

Are your new speakers not a direct replacement of the factory ones?
Why would you need an amp especially if you are using an aftermarket head unit?
Are you planning on upgrading the wires too?

I'm not using an aftermarket headunit I'm doing an iPad dash install im upgrading everything

I think you need to be a little more specific with your question. The only thing I can say is you need to proceed by installing them. You might get better answers if you elaborate a bit more.

What are you using to run ur ipad threw? I hope you don't think just the earphone jack will do.. Well I guess it would prolly work but that's deff a ghetto way! With the headphone wire cut and spliced into a speaker to rca converter ran to the amp......

I'm using a usb audio splitter than goes into the charge port of the iPad than splits into a usb and 3.5 audio jack

Than the 3.5 audio is connected to an rca to the amp then the amp to the speakers

How about you start to tear into it like by removing the old speakers first than start to add your new speakers in then do your iPad thing it's pretty str8 forward if you run into issues than you ask a question ,unless there's some crazy technique to do it in a 2g
you should be fine

I bought a touch screen deck new door speakers,an amp, two subs , wireing kit and threw it all in my 1ga laser with out issues I have 8 speakers 6 going threw my deck at 320 watts than my subs are seperate running threw my 550w alpine amp just dig in I spent only 450$ (half was for the deck ) the rest I bought used off my bro except the wirein kit and door speakers did it all myself with a wireing schematic it's easy and would never pay some t-tap using audio installer to do it (always solder)

Take it out...run your own wires from your own amp to the speakers,battery,and to the iPad

So your not using a headunit at all? I'd be careful with what your doing with your ipod/ipad... i burned up an internal amp/speaker/headphone port on my ipod gen 3 a few years back exactly how your hooking yours up. What happens is the amp/speakers attempt to pull more voltage through the 3.5 headphone port, and it burns it up. Much like your ipod/ipad gets hot when your using it. You'll probably do what you want anyway but just be careful and be aware that it COULD burn up the internal amp inside your ipad/ipod. I burned up my ipod, but maybe your ipad has a beefier internal amp. If you do go through with it, make sure you grab a ground loop isolator (less than $10), it cleans up the interference by using an ipod/ipad that isnt grounded properly like a headunit would be through the cars harness, so you'll get feedback and humming. It gets annoying without it.

best way to wire it up would be to 1, remove the factory amp, run your own. 2, use a bluetooth to rca adapter for the ipad. it'll keep you from shorting it out/frying anything. if you know how, do a steath install usb connection (hopefully with custom dash mold) to keep you ipad charged

Also, I don't recommend using 6x9s. they aren't a direct replacement. you have to do some trimming and customization if you want it to look right. that's just me though. is there a particular reason you want 6x9s?

I think he said he is going to use a USB audio interface. Ipad can route audio in/out (and also midi) through its 30 pin or lightening port.

I use iPad for guitar, production/recording and other crazy synth stuff. It's actually a powerful music creation tool on par with major recording software and VSTi's. The music community has pushed apple to develop its core audio/midi into iOS. The benefits can be used for other applications as well, such as, car audio. So that's a thing

Here is a cheap solution made by ios peripheral company Griffin. It's $99. Made for mobile DJ applications which is basically what you are doing.

It's bus powered so requires no outside source of power. It gets its power from the device itself. It has a master volume knob digital audio RCA outs (which run to the amp) it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack which can be used the same time as the RCAs (since this is a DJ interface that feature is used for cueing tracks, in this case it will not be used, unless you want to for some reason listen to the car stereo and have headphones in at the same time ???) Mount your mobile device how you'd like then mount the interface in a convenient location. Plug in all the connections, RCA's to amp, USB to device port. Instant digital audio streaming through the dock port. iPod,iPhone,iPad will work. No head unit needed. I was planning on running just an amp/speaker setup through iOS also so good luck.

You are not limited to this cheap Griffin product though. You can use any bus powered audio interface designed for iOS. There are literally 100s now. Most are made for high quality music production and if you are after the best quality for your stereo, this would be the place to look. Searching USB audio interface bus powered iOS in Google will yield the product results. Rock and Roll.

I replaced speakers buf my driver side rear speaker wont work , I know for sure the speaker works cause I tested them, same thing with mt gst too, might be my radio ?

A 6x9 coax in the rear is useless. That's money better spent on reducing cabin noise which is 90% of sound quality on any 90's Chrysler car.
