Hey, I just put in my new 450cc injectors from my buddies 1g, and I followed the How To Guide on how to install them from 2GNT (2GNT.com - 4g63_450cc_Injectors_in_a_2GNT) and Installed the resistor box per the instructions, I have a Wally 255lph fuel pump, a 12:1 SFMU, and a FCD. I started the car and it seems like its just running pig rich with white smoke coming out the exhaust. I tried tuning the FCD both ways with no noticeable change, and I really need to know what else this problem could be. Can someone please help me out? I really need the help :sosad: , thanks a lot guys I really appreciate it.

White smoke usually means oil burning. Black smoke means running rich. Do you have a wideband or logger to show your Air/Fuel ratio? Post a log or video. Did you drive it? Does it bog out?

blue smoke is oil actually, I have a narrow band which doesnt help much. I stared it earlier, and it idled like a muscle car and ran really rich then it died. Now I try to start it and it just keeps cranking and wont start.

Were the injectors any good? Pull the plugs and clean the gas from them. Disconnect the injectors and the ignition system and crank the car over. It should push any excess gas out of the plug holes.

Like i told you on the phone earlier i think its the wrong resistor box.
I read the link you posted and it states

"The required resistor pack needed to run the low impedance injectors can also
be found on eBay, and for about $8. You can use a resistor pack from a
4g63 or from a Honda"

You told me you had one, but i cant remember if it was from a 4g63t or honda. or something else.

Yea its a Honda OEM Resistor Box for sure. Right now im going to install my AFPR and see if I can lower the pressure so im not running so rich and see if I can tune it so it can at least run. Ill post back later with the results.

White smoke = burning coolant which usually means bad head gasket. Milk shake looking oil?

How was the car running before you changed the injectors? When I had my timing off by a tooth it idled like you were saying, smelled rich, and wouldn't stay idling. Do any hard pulls recently or since changing the injectors? You may have skipped a tooth or blew your HG.

Ok, well I am waiting to take it to my local English Racing in Camas, but I swapped my injectors back to my 235s and everything runs perfectly fine again. Until I find out what to do to make this run right Im not gonna F around with it and waste my time if I don't know what to do.

can someone back me up on this one, if I put in the 450cc's back in and installed an Apexi SAFC 1 or 2, Ill be able to lean out the injectors by manipulating the injector pulse timing correct? Hence I wont run pig rich anymore right?

You installed the injectors before without a method to tune them? Of course they will work much better with a way to tune them.

I know, bad move I know but its all apart of the learning curve I suppose. But yea, shouldn't the SAFC straighten out my problem and allow my car to run the bigger injectors without running so rich?
