Headlight upgraded harness needed?

Hey guys I just got some 80/100 watt upgraded lights for my 1g. It says that an upgraded harness is reccomended. Do people really melt their wires if they dont run a harness? I want to make sure I dont damage my harness.

Yes they can melt the harness. I melted the internal harness on my old 97 avenger had to get new head lights (at 300 each employee pricing it was expensive). If I had known that it was going to do that I would have made a custom harness with relays. You can get lights much cheaper but still.
