tornto,
My specs:
1991 talon tsi AWD
maft + gm maf
3 inch turbo back
stock 14b turbo
2.5 uicp
stock injectors
MBC set at 15psi

I have 1000 canadian to spend. This is my options:
1) dsmlink + laptop (1000 dollars)-> Im leaning into this upgrade because I want to learn how to tune my car.
2) Water injection kit (400 dollars) -> I want it because it helps control the knock, and makes the engine run much smoother.
3) Clutch kit + lightened flywheel (1000)-> my stock clutch still ok but I want more clamping power.:)

which one guys?

in my opinion i would hold off on the dsmlink till you upgrade your turbo and fuel system it will make much more affective in my opinion i would upgrade your turbo and feul system but if you have to choose between the 3 id say go with the clutch kit, that flywheel will give you almost 25hp to the wheels

How do you figure a grand for a clutch and flywheel? Should cost 650 or so. Get DSMlink. I had it since the day I got my car running, and never looked back. Worth every penny.

Edit: Sorry I forgot you said Canadian. Disregard the clutch cost question.

It would be slightly easier to read your post if you used proper grammatical skills. Punctuation and proof reading are your friends.

DSMLink

Best to control your car and monitor it before you upgrade. Plus you can tune your car now and get some power out of it if you do it right.

canadian dollars, that's like 650 usd x exchange rate + duty fees = more money :( The only reason why i want to buy a dsmlink is I want to learn how to tune, it sucks using the maft + datalogger. I dont want to buy an SAFC if i'm going to end up buying a dsmlink in the future.

definately clutch and flywheel. Some sites sell an act package for a great price. You don't need dsmlink until you've upgraded the turbo and fuel (I think someone said that). It really sucks about the conversion rate to US dollars but if you do the clutch and flywheel then you should have atleast enough left over to get a 255 lph fuel pump (which by the way you should already have if you are at 15psi).

If you are more set on a clutch, then go for it I guess. You could save money by just reusing your stock flywheel, as many people do. If your are more for drag racing, a light flywheel is not necessary, well, until you break certian times. It's also easier to launch with a heavier flywheel. This being why act makes two different types, once heavier then the other.

I would say DSMlink and laptop if you didnt already have a logger and MAFT. I dont think DSMlink isnt need untill you upgrade your turbo and fuel seeing as i got it and plan to try for 300+ out of it with the DSMlink. If i had gotten the MAFT first i wouldnt have the DSMlink since you only need minor tunning till you get into the big turbos. my vote would go to the clutch flywheel combo. and maybe spend the 200+ thats left over on maybe guages since i didnt see a boost gauge. or if you have them save it towards a turbo

i went with the ACT 2600 clutch and fidanza 8 pund flywheel and it was an amazing difference especially when launcing GO FOR THE CLUTCH FLYWHEEL COMBO!!!

Your too early in modding for a DSMlink, get the clutch/flywheel in preparation for a bigger turbo.
