Decision to make, advice appreciated

I recently blew the A/T in my 97 GST. I'm trying to decide what to do next, but I'm not sure. I like the car a lot, but my financial situation isn't too great at the moment. I may be selling the car, depending upon which option I choose, how much it costs me, and how much I can get for the car. Here are my options as I see them:
1. Buy cheap junkyard a/t and swap
2. Full performance rebuild of a/t
3. A/t -> Manual swap
4. Sell car as-is

What do you all see as the pros and cons of each? What would you do?

Good - cheap
Bad - may get one that dies after awhile
2. Full performance rebuild of a/t
Good - the obvious, performance and should last awhile
Bad - you said you dont have much money to spend right now....
3. A/t -> Manual swap
good - you have a 5 speed then...i guess
BAD - you said you dont have much money to spend and its really not worth it....
4. Sell car as-is
Good - gets rid of the broken trans problem
Bad - you lose the car....

If it was my car, id get it rebuilt...or buy a cheap replacement

Talk me out of this some more, because I keep telling myself it'd be a fun summer project...

you can do a search for threads about it. I won't disagree, would be a fun project if you have the money to spend and REALLY like the car that much. then by all means, go for it.

there is actualy write-ups on everything you need. most of the parts you can get used from trader/ebay/classifieds which saves you alot of money. then you just have to bolt everything together and make it all work pretty much.

however if you dont have the money to do it, or enough knowledge of what needs to be done, its not worth it. a garage will charge you ALOT to do the conversion.

im not going to try to talk you out of it because in the end it is up to you. if you have the time and money...as i said...go for it.
