This is my first car, 1996 Eagle Talon TSi, 89xxx miles and its bone stock. I am trying to decide between these two exhausts - HKS Exhaust - Eagle Talon Carbon Ti Cat-Back Exhaust System - HKS Carbon Ti Exhaust

and

HKS Exhaust - Eagle Talon Hi Power Cat-Back Exhaust System - HKS Hi Power Exhaust

as well as this downpipe - Buschur Racing Downpipe for the Mitsubishi Eclipse - DSMtuners.com - (Not sure if it would be compatible with the different exhaust systems?)

I also am getting an intake; would this one work - KN Intake - Eagle Talon FIPK Air Intake Fuel Injection Performance Kit - KN Fuel Injection Performance Intake FIPK

and lastly I was considering a performance chip, and i understand that they claim to raise horsepower, and that usually its just a different peak rpm but are there any that actually do what they say?

All help is greatly appreciated - Thanks!

I would go for maintenance first, exhaust isn't really a necessity for a stock system.

As for a chip, I know not of what you're talking about, It doesn't really apply to our cars. But you can get ecmlink which is I guess chipped for the ecu to use it.

I may be missing something, I'm sure someone will chime in.

Right. i have had it completely maitenenced and I AM following that...

And what would be the best intake exhaust turbo etc etc brands and models im way to indecisive haha.

Your in the right. I have a tsi as well and my first mods intake, 3in turbo back, boost gauge and a manual boost controler. As far as things bolting up, call them. They are usualy squared away when it comes to fitment.

Sweet. Thank you for giving me personal help instead of redirecting me haha. What intake did you get?

EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts
Intake cone - That's the one I have, cheap-ish, effective.

Intake pipe - Retains the bov recurculation

Reducing coupler

You can't go wrong with an MHI turbo, try to avoid to china turbos, cheap-yes, but an engine rebuild would cost quite a bit more.

This is the exhaust I have, nice and deep, no rasp at all. Relatively cheap too, in comparison.

For an intake pipe just pick one up from ebay, but get a nice K&N filter. The exhaust is kind of a preference but getting a 3 in exhaust is better than a 2.5 in. Most people upgrade to a MHI 16g turbo for there first upgrade. They are great turbos with a fast spool.

But most of it depends on the plans for your car.
