i have 97 gst, 16g big evo3 turbo, 3" intercooler piping, 3" down pipe all the way to exhaust, now the question is do i need to upgrade my fuel injectors? i have walbro 255.

i do have the adjustable fuel regulator ebay brand though. so i need wideband gueage? whats that thing do? sorry i'm so newbe

I don't know this to be fact, but I believe you do need to upgrade to bigger injectors. I also think you need a adjustable fuel pressure regulator to tone down that 255 unless you're really cranking the boost.

A wideband air/fuel gauge. I'm finding it hard to explain but I'll try. The reason you would need larger injectors is if you were leaning out/not getting enough fuel. The only way to know is to know your air/fuel ratio. Also, what kind of boost levels are you running? Why do you think you need bigger injectors?

well i'm boosting about 16-18 psi is that too high? so bigger injectors like? and i do have the afpr just the ebay brand.

A wideband afr gauge is a gauge that show the air to fuel ratio. If you have too much air and not enough (high number) then you'll experiance pre-ignition (detonation) and blow your motor. If too much fuel to air (low number) you're running rich. It kills your power, gas miliage, and throws all kind of emissions. They make cheaper narrowband gauges, but they are slow and innacurate. If you don't have a wideband I'd make that my next modification. At your level, you NEED one.

i see thanks jayb12, i was just thinking that im pushing too much air with the mods that i neede to upgrade the fuel injectors, should i get a better afpr? and i believe i have 6an or 8an fuel line from tank to fuel rail.

shamrock thanks for the info, i'll definitely get 1 asap..

thanks every1 i'll get the widband guage asap. hopefully not that expensive..LOL..

Yes, 16-18 is definitely too high. You are most likely running very lean which is bad. I would drop back to stock until you get the proper mods. Also, really injector size should be determined by the ultimate "goal" you wish to achieve. Also, you'll need something to control the flow of the larger injectors like an SAFC or ECMlink ect.

Also a GOOD wideband is around $200 get an AEM UEGO, Innovative LC-1 or something like those do not get a narrowband, like stated above they don't really do anything.

But really you need to turn the boost down, you are risking some serious damage to your engine running like that.

You will definatley need the injectors. You shouldn't run higher boost then stock with out a wideband gauge. You wont make it far if you lean the engine out to much and you would want to get either safc-2, dsm-link, or a maf translator so you can control those bigger injectors. You probably want to buy a diffrent fuel pressure regulator i dont know how accurate or reliable the ebay one is. I think you want it to be around 43.5 psi with rising fuel rate of 1:1. For every pound of boost if gives another psi. I believe the you want to be around 14.3 on your air/wideband. I would get one of these first before anything else with modifications you can loose the engine pretty quick.
