Ok, first off, I just want it to be known that my car, 92 Eclipse GSX, is for fun and and learning as far as tuning goes. So, with that said, I'm wondering as far as upgrading parts on the car, what to upgrade. I guess I'm asking what parts off a different car (year and model) would work on my car WITHOUT a tune yet. Like injectors, MAF, exhaust manifold, TB, IM...things like that. I wish there were a list somewhere of this. Anyways, just looking into upgrading everything I can with compatible parts off of other vehicles before a tune is required. I love this car and have always wanted one but could never find it without a sh*tty body. I come from v8 land and now i want to learn as much about this car as possible. There's an older DSM here in town pushing over 700 to the wheels and that's just nasty, LOL. Hope I don't get slammed too hard for this post :)

I've viewed all that. I'm talking about compatible parts from other cars to put on my 1g that would be considered upgrades to my motor...Not what to remove and what to change out or how to tune up a car.

Thanks for the link...Very insightful.....And no, not just parts from other cars. I'm just wondering what works for upgrades to save some money for now. I have other cars i dump money in as well

Honestly, one that works well (what my Father currently runs, and a friend ran for over 1.5 years without issue) is:

e316G turbo
FMIC
2g MAS
Hard intake
550 injectors
Wally 255
AFPR
MBC set to 23psi

All parts from other cars.

What car did all this come off of? Wally? MBC? Hard intake with FMIC? etc

Clarification. All parts used off other cars. Nothing new, all purchased for less than $1000.

He can get an FMIC from an EVO, same with the turbo (older EVO), use an EVO FP. Everything has an equivalent that is from another car except the MBC and the 550's (evo 560's run too rich for the setup)

Wally = Assuming Walbro Fuel Pump
MBC = manual boost controller
FMIC = front mount intercooler
Hard Intake = Hard piping, not the stock rubber shit

You can get an evo fuel pump which is ~ 190 lph. You could also grab some evo injectors which are 560cc but you will need something to tune with if you get those.
Some cheap things you can get are:

Evo Fuel Pump
Ebay hard intake pipe w/ K&N filter
The 2g uses a turbo manifold that is less prone to cracking
And also the 2g MAS flows more but you're going to have to do some wiring.
Hyundais with 4G63s have a nicer valve cover that has a little better seal, and looks good :hellyeah:

But if your looking to make some power you're going to have to get some more expensive name brand parts.

^^^ what he said!!

You have better odds at winning the lottery than you do in finding a junked EVO with any useable parts.

Lol. I was just curious. I don't mind spending money on more reliable and new parts, just curious. I've had plenty of cars in the past that could use "bigger" parts off different cars and is considered an upgrade. Example...my 05 Saturn Ion Redline with SC, you can use the injectors off the supercharged Mustang Cobras in the Redline, big time upgrade. Same with throttle bodys and such

not much is interchangeable for our cars and others. I would grab a 2G throttle body elbow and exhaust manifold. You can look for evo shocks/struts to put on your car, but may take some work. You can also look at the mustang cobra brake upgrade, but I would just do the upgrade to 93-94 dual piston brakes, either from a t/e/l or from a 3kgt/stealth. The 93-94 has the same style brake line connection, if you can't find one you can use 95+ but you should get the brake line stuff the connect the calipers. If you are doing drag/strip you may want to get a manual steering rack. That's about all I can think of now. vfaq.com has alot of the old school modifications, or check out the tech section.

Thanks teejay. That's more on track as to what I'm trying to find out. I am heading to the salvage today and I'll be getting the exhaust manifold and TB elbow. Just wasn't sure if there was anything else I could pull before I went.
