Hi, Im having issues with my car starting. To start things off I was having charging issue, so I replaced Alternator and belt about a month ago. Come to find out a simple connection was off for the voltage regulator and it was just charging to much (15.0-15.5) Volts. But I fixed the wire and now all is good with charging. A few weeks ago I began having a starting problem. I turn the Key over and all interior electronics come on, voltage at 12.3-12.5 on turbo timer, car will not crank but when i turn the key to crank fuel pump kicks on. I push start the car and it starts right up and the rest of the day it start just fine. Same thing happens next day and I go to replace starter and notice that lower bolt for starter is missing and ground wire is just kinda hanging. I take out remaining bolt and put ground wire on it and it starts fine but still missing bottom bolt. I drive down the road and then stop. and car will not start again same symptoms. I replace starter but do not replace bolt and it starts fine ever since..untill today.. I get up to leave for work and it makes a very bad sound when i try to start it noise comming from either battery (in hatch) or speakers in car kinda like a whooshing sound and wirring from starter.. eventually it cranks..i get to gas station and have same problem but then no crank at all and no sound but loud click on time. I check batt voltage at batt with DMM and it has 12.3 volts.. need help, driving me insane..only thing I havent changed it battery and I dont know how old it is but it holds good voltage when ign off and when charging.. PLEASE HELP

For now.... Sounds like it's a on going problem best of luck with that.. Anyway if you didn't already put that bolt back in even if you order oem 1 bolt for a 2 bolt starter doesn't sound too smart IMO

when i put the replacement starter on I actually bought a smaller bolt and nut to hold the other side down for the time being. My mitsu dealer out here takes forever to get anything so I had to make due, and I cannot find any kind of bolts for these cars anywhere but the dealer or online. But yes I took care of the bolt issue.
