My car has not started in over 1 month!!! i'm going to go crazy!

i've got a 95 Talon Tsi Awd, 6 bolt engine, a few mods.
my car ran good before i drove home one night, parked it and it hasn't started since..... :barf:

- when it did run, it would sputter kinda when i accelareted at around 3k Rpms, it felt like it lost bunches of power, my air/fuel guage goes CRAZY and it kinda seemed like only 2 cylinders were firing or something of that sort. i thought it may be the coil packs so i bought new ones but couldn't put them on to see because the car is dead  this is a COMPLETE mystery to me. it didn't feel like fuel cut, i have 550cc injectors by the way.

- right now, the car turns over,
-gets gas (i've pulled out the plugs and they've been soaked in gas,
-i get spark (new coils + transistor unit) although last week it wasn't sparking..... ?????
- the timing belt job is pretty recent.

what would cause this. i dont know what else to check. thank you for your help guys. Matt

would the head gasket have made it "sputter" when it was drivable?
i've got a compression guage, so i'll check to see if that's it. i never would have thought of that. thanks :thumb: i'll let you guys know what happens

Off timing would result in bentvalves... my car is having the same prob its in the shop right now having a new gasket put on. will let u know if it helps

i just checked the compression.
cylinder #1: 75
cylinder #2: 115
cylinder #3: 95
cylinder #4: 95

keep in mind my car hasn't started for over a month.
i poured some oil in each cylinder and checked again. cylinder#1 came up to 135!!!!! WTF  ???

would i have bad/burnt valves? or would it still be my head gasket?
thanks for your help :thumb:

The compression numbers are not great but typically a compression problem will allow it to crank but will cause a poor running condition.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you keep trying to crank the car and flood it, your plugs could be fouled out from all the fuel.

i'll go get some new spark plugs in the morning and try again.

so what about the compression in #1 cylinder??? i found that very strange that compression was 75 then after i added some oil jumped to 135! why would that happen?

i really think it would be the head gasket. to find out for sure should i just pull the head? ie there an easier way?

thanks guys! i really need your help on this! i need to get back on the road!:thumb:

i guess it has something to do with the CAS. i believe the wires have to be inverted or something like this. i highly suggest you look into that. i know dsmlink solves the problem with the click of a mouse.

also sounds like you might have a ring problem. im interested to find out what the compression would be after the car warmed up.

can you tell me more about the CAS thing? enough so maybe i can do a search on it? thanks!!!:thumb:
