1G unkown valve on the side of intake manifold

im doing a head rebuild and this valve is attached to the bottom side of my intake manifold, it was not hooked up to anything and i removed nothing from it, does anyone know what it is ?

EGR valve. You can buy or make a block off plate and delete that cleanly.

That EGR valve is already blocked off, gotta love that soda/beer can block of plate.

hahah, i havent touched it really, i didnt even think to see if that is blocked off, i took pictures before i left the shop. if its not blocked off, and i block it off, ill fail inspections correct ?

I passed Pa standard emissions with no charcol canister, egr nothin. Good luck.

well im in bucks county and ive passed before, so i guess i have mitsu to thank for hiding the EGR where no ones going to look!

They probably just look to see if it's there, not if it works. You might have trouble if they do an exhaust gas analysis with the car running, on rollers, but I think they only do that in Cali and in big cities. If you really wanna be safe, just hook-up a bunch of vacuum hoses to all of your vacant nipples. Umm, nipples.

i think im just gonna make a legit plate to block the inside and then bolt it back up, its not doing anything so why not, is ther an internal passege in the manifold, or it just pulls exhaust through a vaccum line ?

No one will notice thats its not there for an inspection. The 90-94 1.8L 4G37's came from the factory with an EGR block off plate (which you can use on your dsm, time for a junkyard visit).
