unknown sensor help

Hey,as i was fixing my coolant temp sensor issue i dropped my razor blade onto the trans housing ,well i went to grab that and seen that theres a sensor that has the wires snapped off. I dont know what sensor it is but if your on the passenger side looking straight down where the shifter cables are and look sorta close by the fender side its sticking straight up with two wires coming off. Its easy as hell to get to but i dont know what it is or where the two wires go.And on top of it it was loose.i tightened it up more just because. Im on my way to work so i dont have a pic. Its a 91 talon tsi, if that helps until i get the pic up.. Thanks!

Could it be your back-up light swith???? If your reverse lights dont work I would say thats it. Thats the only sensor thats in that area on my 96 gst hope this help.

Back up lights. The speed sensor is more towards the firewall. Not a big deal unless your state requires them.

Really?? well then, I will definitely check that out. It seems weird that it would just look like a sensor. Yea its the only sensor that you can see when you look down between the air filter and battery, In between them. Wow. Out of the 6 dsms, ive never had to mess with this thing. I will check that out. No problem I would put money on it . just turn the key on and put it in reverse then go look at the lights. When I bought my new tranny I lost that sensor and had to buy it, I believe it was like $8
