Okay, I think this may be the cam angle sensor, but I've never seen a cam angle sensor like this. I'm not a noob, but there's so many sensors on these cars I can't keep track.

Anyway, I had some cams put in by a buddy a few months ago, and just noticed today that this sensor had been unplugged ever since. Why would my car run without it and not throw a code?

What does this sensor do, and what good/bad does having it unhooked do?

i believe your CAS is on the other side of your valve cover if you are still running the original 95 cas setup. not sure what that would be, but your car will not run without a CAS.

Okay, yeah now that I think about it, the wiring goes back down to the wiring harness so it couldn't be the CAS.

Would unplugging this sensor affect the way the car runs? Because I haven't noticed much of a difference since it's been unhooked...

I've always heard that 2Gs don't have an actual knock sensor? Anyway, I've only driven it 3 or 4 times and not gone WOT. Plus I don't have link running constantly while I'm cruising around so I wouldn't have any way to see if I was getting knock or not.

when my knock sensor went bad it was just like having it unplugged(knock sensor circut code). It was causing the timing to be off and making me run pig rich to be on the safe side. They didnt just put it in there for the hell of it so its probably not a good idea to run without it just for the hell of it.

Hm, like I said this made no difference in how the car ran. But then again, all the car did without it is drive home, and idle in the garage a couple times in the past 3 months. Never got an engine code or anything. Just noticed something didn't look right last night and thought I should see what this sensor was for.
