Purchased a 99 eclipse spyder off of ebay a few years ago. The seller told me about the mods and things but at the time i didn't understand them and have long since forgot. It was in an accident involving a large dog and I assume the seller got it through some sort of insurance auction. I had the hood/windshield/front cover/fenders/headlights replaced. I say that because I keep losing my passenger rear tire at higher speeds. It has been lowered and struts replaced with coil overs. I don't have and of the specs but would like to replace my springs/struts, would love to even raise my car an inch or 2. It has a full body kit and i cant even back up out of my drive way without scraping my side skirts.

I would just replace my stuts but the car has always been a rough ride and want to get rid of the coil overs in the same process.

Can I just order springs/struts, or did do need something else since I'm removing the coilovers?

thanks for the reply, I'll focus my research on springs/struts, I was worried I might have to replace something else due to the coilover mod. I'm having some trouble locating stock springs that are new.

Does anyone know the stock spring rate for the Rear/Front for a convertible, i think they are the same for the AWD?

I found replacements struts for $70 bucks each. But I'm considering aftermarkets if they offer a better than stock return.

I'm not sure of the specs on the rates for the convertible... but i think you'll need the FWD shocks; the rear hubs and such are different between the two. You really should just have to find some shocks and springs. I'd be willing to bet any money you have eBay "coilovers" on there right now....

Any info or cons to Tokico or KYB Struts?

These seem to be the least amount of drop for springs I can find.

I'm getting mixed reports on what kind of springs I need for this car, some say I need AWD even though its FWD.

I think I've decided upon KYB Struts and these ST springs.

edit: After some looking i found accounts on here that have put AWD springs/struts on a spyder,
KYB 341165 vs 341164?
