What would happen if there was no pressure source going to the MAP sensor? I have no place to put it on my new SMIM. I have heard of people running a vacuum line to it and zip tieing the line, but I don't want to risk it popping off and causing a big boost leak. What ill effect would I have for leaving the harness plugged in but not giving it any pressure source? Thanks.

If you wanted to prevent CEL, It is very easy to mod it to hook right up to a vacuum line. That is what I did, and it has been about 1year and holding strong.

how exactly did you do this? I looked at the tip and it looks like you can just slide a line over it ... but I don't want to risk it popping off. How did you do yours?

First sand off the bevel around the MAP sensor nipple so that it is flat. Then slip your vacuum line over it. THen take a piece of larger house (3/8" fuel line I believe) in a section about 1/2" long and slide that around the vacuum line and down to where the MAP sensor is. THis gives a larger surface area between the vac. line and the sensor itsef. Then put a bunch of super glue on the map sensor/hoses and stick it on there. RTV works also.
