I'm doing a boost leak test & took out the intake hose. Found this laying underneath the air filter. Appears to be a small electric motor/pump with a length of vacuum hose attached to it. The vacuum hose was not connected to anything. Has a Mitsu logo on the side & some numbers - tried to look it up in CAPS but too many numbers for the part number box. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Some people have had CEL's when just unplugging it. I left mine plugged in on all the cars, and just tucked out of the way.

If you want to unplug it and not worry about the check engine light coming on then all you have to do is take a small wire and bend it so that it looks like a U and insert it into the 2 terminals of the plug. That way you are grounding it and completing the circuit. Easy and flawless.
