Just got a competely stock 95 GSX ;) and I'm going to start modding soon. As soon as i get a new valve cover, my fist mods are gonna be a Greddy Type S BOV and some kind of upper intercooler piping. I'v only looked into the Dejon Tool UICP and I'm trying to shop around to get the best one. Any one have an experience or recommend any other UICP. All posts are appreciated, thanx in advance.

Does anyone know if this pipe from them comes with the hardware and stuff to bolt it on? I know the similar pipe from RRE does, but Dejon doesn't say.

They ship with all the couplers and clamps needed for installation.

Well, at least mine did.

if you plan on modding this car more, i would suggest getting the whole greddy intercooler piping kit. seems like the best bang for your buck, seeing as dejon, rre, etc.. are charging $100 for one part of the i/c piping. the greddy kit is the full 3 piece, selling for $200, AND i believe i've seen some deals on ebay for the greddy kit WITH the blow off valve included at an incredible price. :thumb:

im sure vendors from this site also have similar deals.
and/or my classified add :shhh:

1st, thing you need to do is get a Haynes Service Manual.....
Make sure everything is working perfectly before you go and start modding the piss out of it....
Build a boost leak tester, do a compression test.... document those numbers.... and your mileage, by the way, nice score on the GSX....
How many miles?
Then do all of your general maintanance T-Belt and all associated parts if needed. Change all fluids,
spark plugs (NGK BPR6ES gapped to .028", Wires (MSD are the best wires with the least resistance per foot), fuel filter, all belts & hoses,
T-Stat, new rad cap, and have the rad flushed, you get the picture, replace everything that will give you peace of mind....
Oh yeah, and don't forget an aftermarket boost gauge.....
I wouldn't get an UICP that bolts directly to your TB, it will just get in the way when you need to work in that area, ever change a fuel filter?
If you have, then you know what I'm talking about......

I paid just $375 to my door for the complete Greddy IC Pipe Kit and the Greddy Type-S BOV, granted it took a week to get here, but well worth the wait....

That picture is from only one part of the intercooler pipe assembly. Unfortunately, Dejon Tool does not sell a kit that comes with the piping from the stock smic assembly to the throttle body elbow, they're kit is a 2 part. But, I do believe they come with all the parts you'll need to hook it up and I know for a fact they come pre-flanged for the BOV of your choice. If you want a full D.J. kit you will have to buy that pipe and the TB elbow pipe seperatly but priced together it should cost you a little under $200. The Greddy kit is a good choice too because not only does it include the UICP assembly, but it also comes with their LICP and pre-flanged for the type-s. It would be a great choice if you ever plan on using their 24R big front mount intercooler because even though it isn't short-route piping, you won't feel bad about having to replace any of the pipes you bought earlier.

I definitely will make sure the car is in proper running order before I start modding. I'v already replaced the valve cover gasket and have changed all the fluids. It's got 96k on the body and 6k on a rebuild. Its in decent condition and pretty good for a first car if you ask me. Anyway, from the majority of responses, I'm thinking of going with the complete Greddy Kit along with the Type S. If i have the money, I'm gonna buy the boost gauge at the same time so don't worry about that. Thanx for all the help :thumb:

I have a dave brode on my 2g and he it's awesome, he was very kind and fast with it too. This coupled with the 1g bov gave a great increase in power. No need to spend the money on higher priced stuff as it all comes down to the same technology in a way. Spend that money on stuff like food/beer/chics :D

I bought Dave Brode's UICP and it was the best $80 bucks ive ever spent

I couldn't agree more with these guys. David's customer service is awesome. He replied to my emails promptly and delivery was quick. I painted my UICP black along with my Type S. Everything looks stock under the hood, except for my filter. :thumb:

Edit - Here's his contact info.

if you DONT have the money, dont buy the piping. boost gauge comes first.
just my .02

when all else fails, fallow the tuning guide. I have a buschur UICP and I like it a lot, black in color hides it from the untrained eye. Als0, the way its designed, I cant put a GM MAFT between the TB elbow it came with and the UICP (all one piece from IC to TB Elbow).

i have the full 2g Dejon tool I/C piping set and i love it. the reason i got it was because of the unique designe of the UICP. The second piece is a nicely mandrel bent S pipe that bolts up solidly to the TB. Nice price, all parts included for install, choice of color and BOV flange, and they sure as hell are effective on the car.
