so im getting uicp from Dave Brode and i was wondering if u can install it without taking the tire off or install it without taking the panel off....ive heard u can install it from the engine bay....without having to jack the car or anything...is this true? if not is the only way to install it like the instructions on dave brodes site?

You should be able to do it all with just turning the wheel all the way right and undoing the splash guard over the IC. You will want to clamp the connector on the IC, which can only be done from below, and on the IC pipe, which you can do from the engine bay.

if this is the pipe that connects from the top of the intercooler to the S pipe by the fuse box it should be no problem. Thus far I've done 2 w/o jacking up the car or turning the wheel at all. My car is also not lowered at all.

It may be different for 2gs, but on 1gs the IC outlet doesn't stick far enough up into the engine bay to get a clamp on it securely, and this would be an area you want a secure connection. I've had many a boost leak/pipe pop off from this not being super secure.

When I intalled my straight line specialties UICP I didnt have to jack the car up or anything. And I also didnt have to remove the splash gaurd, my intercooler sticks out far enough to easily clamp the coupler on. It is a very simple install, only takes about 20-30 min.

Weird. Don't you guys find this makes your IC pipe stick up too far? Have you checked to make sure it isn't making contact with the underside of the hood? Do you all have 2.25" pipes?

Super quick poor drawing, but you get the idea.
