This car has run 200mph multiple times. Just not at texas.

Hey in your profile it states that you have a home built tranny? What changes have you made? Did you change gear ratios or are you high revving the engine?

I have been interested in changing the gear ratio of my car. With all these power adders and such I feel the car could be faster by changing the ratio.

thanks!

With the help of a friend, we built it ourselves. Put together like it should be, but with an AWD 5th gear in a turbo FWD tranny. Really only on the FWD tranny's can you get wild. But this is more than just the turbo trannys. The non-turbos, colt trannys, galant trannys, anything FWD mitsubishi really. But AWD you only have a few options. Galant 1st gear, full Evo III gear set, Evo III 5th only or TRE 5th only.

Cool man thanks for the info! I always figured you could gear these engines down a little after you increase the HP, get better mileage and be able to do a couple hundred miles an hour! :D

We have a transmission currently that is mathematically good for 340mph. And it is a mitsu FWD tranny. Some sick gearing.

what year tranny are you using? I have a 1991 fwd and need more top end. any ideas? thanks

Wow, nice run.
The AMS drag EVO was at that event and ran 228mph.
They claim that makes it the quickest Mitsubishi in the mile.

THere is nothing quick about the mile. They are now both the fastest in the mile and fastest mitsubishi in history. 2010 is still early, and Raver Motorsports, My friend's car, John Wigger's car, Mike Riechen's car and plenty of others still have to run this year. 228 will be tough to beat, but at the salt it is very doable.

All you guys have to do is snoop around for all the FWD offerings from mitsubishi. The geear ratios are all out there.

The tranny in that car currently is a non-turbo F5M222 tranny. It has been highly modified to accept a DSM clutch. He has six or seven for the car. The main salt tranny is a highly modified turbo FWD tranny with a conglomeration of gears and shafts that he could fit in there. Some galant stuff, some dsm stuff, and some non-turbo stuff.

The 300mph tranny is a galant transmission.
