Can i use a open manifold on a holset super hx40 that is twin entry? What lose will i be affected with?

From what I've seen and read, it affects spool the most. Some say it affects power overall. I personally had bad experiences tuning a buddies car with that setup. Car just felt underpowered and just didn't make power as it should. However, he had certain things in his setup I was not in favor of and the car did have more issues that could have factored in that as well. I have seen people do this and make good power. Can it make better power or have better spool? Possible, do you have the stuff already?
 
I'd be worried about the sharp flat edge in the middle. If this is the route you're staying it wouldn't be a bad idea to knife edge the dividing wall between the 2 ports so you don't have such a blunt edge for the air to hit there. my $0.02.
 
I am not extremely knowledgeable with this, but I would imagine that more people would do it this way if it worked efficiently. If you already have the parts, I would give it a shot and see how it works out, otherwise, I would buy a manifold and hotside that match.
 
I think Id run a twin scroll manifold with a open turbine housing more than an open manifold twin scroll turbine. The turbulence created has got to impact performance in some way shape or form. If anything, I'd grind that divider down as far down the volute as possible, but then again all this is doing is moving the point of restriction to a different point.
