Turbo XS H-34 Bypass Valve vs. RFL

okay, what I dont understand is how the MAFT helps you fix the problems associated with venting. yes, i understand that it goes after the BOV so it measures accurately the air that is coming in, but isnt it the ECU that is compensating for the extra air that *should* be coming into your intake (but isnt bc of venting)? wouldnt this mean that the MAFT doesnt really do anything but measure the air exactly how it is (which is all the stock MAS does anyway).

btw -- yeah i kno they are huge and arent honey-comb shit and they flow better but im just talking about the whole 'running rich' problem we seem to have between shifts and shit sometimes.

btw #2 -- i have the RFL on my car and is vented (of course) and i havent had any problems (aside from smelling the gas from running a little rich when i come to stops)

By placing the MAFT after the BOV. Any air that the BOV dumps hasn't been read by the MAFT yet, which means there is no "incoming-air loss". The only air that has been metered is air that will make it into the motor.

well, I'm glad to hear that it was probably fuel cut. We got the intercooler piping and BOV on (everything fits perfectly :thumb: ). We even took it to auto-x this last weekend and it did fine. It sounds different, and it seems somewhat louder. As for the guy who said it has a nice flutter at low boost, I'd say you're getting compressor surge. I think the Supras and 240SX/Silvias and such that sound like that are usually running HKS SQV's and a LOT of boost. Could be wrong though.

To hear the before and after of the Greddy vs. the Turbo XS check out these videos
Demo vid of me driving his car with the Greddy Type-S recirculating
Auto-X video from this past Sunday with Turbo XS H-34 Bypass Valve

There were some other mods between the two vids, so the sounds will all be different, not just the BOV. The Greddy video has more variations in where the mic is placed.
