turbo upgrade question

i hav a 2g eclipse gst and its pretty much all stock except it has a full exhaust header back (except turbo) and a stage 2 clutch. I have been thinking of getting a new turbo and thinking about getting a 16g. I was wondering if i got one of those what else would i have to do to the car to get it to run right. What size injectors and fuel pump what kind of FMIC and so on. What would all need to be done from stock? Thanks for the input!
 
Pretty much a direct swap, other than the install kit obviously. It does flow significantly more than the t-25 but if you keep the boost lower, you wouldn't have to change a thing.
 
Keep in mind that larger turbos need more boost to generate airflow- if you buy an Evo III 16G and run it at low boost until you install supporting mods, you're going to be disappointed in it's performance versus the T25. It's going to spool noticeably slower than the T25, and the car will generally feel more sluggish until you're able to get the boost in the 15-20psi area.

I'd keep the T25 on the car until it blows if it's not giving you trouble. Going to a bigger turbo now with no intention of dropping an additional $1000 or so on a FMIC, injectors, and something to tune with just isn't worth it.
 
well thats why i am posting this is because i want to know all that would need to be done because im probably gonna drop some money into come income tax time. I want to know what kind of FMIC and what size injectors and fuel pump and ect.
 
Just a little tip OP. 4g63 dont have headers. Exhaust manifold;) No worries.
I am running the Evo 3 16 now with an Injen Intake. And its running 10psi(no mbc) and I can feel the difference from the T-25 at like 12psi. But thats just me. Maybe its all in the mind. But I do have a set of 190's, Wally 190, and a front mount. Those arent installed yet. Getting around to it.
 
i would get dsmlink first, then go from there. once you get the turbo on and start raising boost, you will not have anything to tune with. dsmlink is awsome.
 
And unfortunately its going to be right at $600 me to get link. Darn non socketed ecu's!

It will be way worth it though, and besides, a brand new 16g will run you in the $550 range, so IMO, get link first, tune your car up to purr like a kitten, which you will get a bump in power with a nice tune, then treat her to goodies like fuel pump, injectors, fmic and turbo and from there you will see you will now have a continuous itch for a little more power LOL

When you get injectors you should buy 850 or 880's or a little bigger. They will work good with dsmlink and then you have room to grow. I bought 550's when I first started moding then I sold them like two months later for my PTE 880's. Also a 190fp should be good just do the rewire on it.
