Alright, I'm planning (in the long run) to use a FP3065 to run ~525 @ the wheels. What I'm wondering though is what is a good turbo to run in between? I have the shitty T25 right now, and was looking for something that I can put on now, run it to close to its max, then run the 3065 on the low end. Maybe like, the evo 3g. Get the evo 3g up to ~370hp and then switch. Can the 3065 use 370, or is that too little for it to work right? My thinking is, I don't want to keep switching between 4-5 turbos... waste of money. Like, I know I could use the t25, then 14b, then evo 3g, then 3052, then 3065, but thats more money than I'd like to spend. So my main questions are...

-Will the evo3g work as a direct replacement to the t25 as is? I know it'll spool a little slower, but will it still put down the power it should? I have an intake, 2.5" catback (going to 3" turbo back soon), boost controller, and boost guage.

-Will the 3065 work well (efficiently) at 370whp? I Know you can't just throw a bigger turbo on, thats why I'm wondering will it run like it SHOULD, or be too big to spool up at that power?

Yes, I plan on doing internals, dsmlink or ems, etc... I'm just planning the turbos now.

Maybe you should look into a 50 trim. That will easily put you in the 400s. Just of course be sure to get your fuel mods first.

Direct remplacment for the T-25 will be the T-28. The T-28 is in the same field as the Evo3 16G.

I would suggest to get a 50 trim them go to your dream Turbo. FP3065 is not bad at all...

If you want to run the 3065 you might as well just slowly build up all the supporting mods for it and then jump stright to it, otherwise you will end up doing things twice and wasting alot of money.

So your saying get my t25 to max, then upgrade to a 50 trim, then a 3065? I don't have the money to do all the upgrades at once, plus I'm sick of the slowness the t25 has. Thats why I'd much rather get one that can run the majority of the power build, rather than building the motor with a maxed out turbo. So in all seriousness, evo 3g or 50 trim? I've heard the 3g will handle close to 400hp (370ish), but I'm not sure if the 3065 can spool that low of power, especially when its made for 500+.

Can I throw a 50 trim on now, straight from my t25 with the mods I have now, or should I get some fuel mods first?

get the fuel set up. then go with the turbo. no point in having a bigger turbo if you cant run more boost.

you are getting ahead of yourself. right now you have no supporting mods to handle a 50 trim or even a evo 3. i would suggest a 255 walbro and a afpr to start upgrading your fuel.

I realize I was getting ahead of myself... however, I still have my main question that hasn't been answered. Would I be better off running the evo3 as my next turbo or a 50 trim? I've almost decided on the evo 3, because of the quick spool up and it can handle a good amount of power.

And yes, I do know I need the fuel mods. I'm just planning it all out, getting prices, and planning my checkbook ahead of time.

look into the t28 or big t28, they're bolt-in replacements that will handle your need for speed in the short term; however, you must realize that even running the t28 or big t28 to it's max will require plenty of investment that your big turbo will need anyway... so just upgrade everything else first, THEN drop cash on a turbo and get it professionally tuned.
follow the tuning guide and recommendations from other 2g awd guys that are where you want to be. my recommendation for your first few items BEFORE any turbo: 255lph pump, fpr, and dsmlink.
after you have these things, then start pricing out your next upgrades; look into an external wastegate setup to figure out if you'll be dumping or routing it back into the exhaust (it will save you money to get the custom downpipe instead of buying twice), find a solid fmic to support the kind of power you want to make, consider some good cams (there are guys making lots of power with stock cams), buy a magnus intake manifold, then start looking for a big turbo and big injectors. if you follow these steps approximately and upgrade things as they break, you'll be on your way down in times and up on the dyno. it might feel like you're throwing away at first (hence the reason you want a bigger turbo NOW), but you have to look at the big picture. besides, most of the joy of a journey is the anticipation and the journey itself... not the destination

You could run these turbos with less but this is what you SHOULD have to have a reliable car without indangering your car every time you hit boost. Most of this stuff can be used when you get your next turbo which ever it might be.

Exhaust:
2.5-3" turbo back
- You could probably get away with just a cat back but since your lookin to go big soon just go full 3"

Fuel:
550-850cc injectors
-You can run a 50 trim and a 16g/evo on 550's(the 50 trim you would be limiting yourself greatly but could still be run) but again the main issue that your upgrading soon anyway I would go with 750's or bigger.

Walbro 255 along with rewire kit
-This will hold up untill you start makin more than 600hp

Areomtive or similar fpr
-This is so with the Walbro 255 you don't over run your afpr and have non linear fuel trims(really hard to tune)

Fmic:
This is wide open the choice is up to you but you def want to go with something that is big enough to support your 3065. Only problem is your intermidiate turbo is gonna be laggy cause of the overkill fmic but this is the last thing you want to buy twice.

Clutch:
ACT2600/2900 or sbr3500
-There are other clutches but these are the most proven and tried. All will hold up with any turbo you want to throw at em within reason.

TUNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:
If you don't do anything else I suggest do this. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET A GOOD TUNING DEVICE. Pretty much save up and go big with aem ems or get the link. There are others like ecu+ and maft pro but the main thing you want to get is the ability to tune fuel AND timin cause most tuning devices just tune fuel trims when timing is the real key to tuning. Along with this make sure you have a logger to watch everything.

Now I hear you on the money situation but BELIEVE ME you will actually spend more money in the long run upgrading twice. I am a strong supporter of ebay parts as I believe that they keep my wallets fat and my car going they just get a bad wrap cause of a couple peoples bad experiences. Where you get your parts and what brand you use is up to you but this is what your gonna need to run a reliable car and still save yourself the need to buy stuff twice. This is just a starting point there are so many things that you COULD get that would be very smart like cams smim trans work NGK plugs not to mention stuff like ported/tubular manifold and wastegates and o2 housings. Going fast isn't cheap and if your lookin at the 3065 I take it that going fast is your goal.
