I was wanting to upgrade my t25 turbo but i have no idea where to go to get a bigger turbo i want to produce about 400hp from my stock engine is that possible? Should i go with a t28 or a 16g turbo evo III? I would like to change my injectors to 550cc with a walbro 255fp and an aftermarket fuel rail and regulator. But i have no idea what the best sites are to get parts for my 96' gst

What are you planning on using for tuning? DSMLink, SAFC, Hopes and dreams? You need to think about that before you upgrade anything.

Be prepared to be told that this question has been asked a thousands times and answered the same.

But everything you mention will get you to you goal with no problem and think about getting a used or rebuilt turbo will be your best bang for the buck. I would prob go with 650cc or 750cc injectors, the stock rail is fine save your money, and finish it of with DSMLINK.

And yes the engine is capable of handling the extra hp. You might want to freshen it, depending on the miles, with new belts, pumps, and maintenance.

if you are trying to make at least 400 hp, you are better off going with a forced performance green turbo. the t28 & 16g would not be able to reach that potential.

I have a safc2 right now. Where is the vendors link? Lol sorry for the stupid questions. I have another question i have a turboxs manual boost controller and i was wanting to know if i could re route it to the center console for easier access and quicker boost changes without having problems with it not working right? You guys are a big help. So if i want to push 400hp what would be the recommended turbo setup? I'm leaning more towards a Garrett or Turbonetics turbo.

The engine was rebuilt at 100,000 miles i have 147,000 miles on it now. My budget is pretty much limitless.

Ok so than what exactly should i start with? I want to do my engine mods first than exterior than interior. I want to run max 400hp i just don't know where to start i guess or which parts work the best together. I was looking at the fp green turbo and I think that would be good for what i want i just don't know what exhaust manifold i would need or injectors, fp,fuel rail, fpsi reg, o2 housing. I'm new to dsm's and ever since i was 15 i wanted to own a eclipse so i got one now that I'm 22 and working at a natural gas processing plant i can afford it.

Can i mount the boost controller in the center console with out problems? I don't want to build a Stroker LOL maybe a few years down the line but for now i want a quick street car. Lol

sounds like a reasonable goal and easily doable. Is there a tuning shop near you or are you going to learn to tune it yourself? You can throw a ton of money at it but if it is not tuned it will run like crap or run like a bat out of hell until it blows up...or both.

there are a lot of builds on this site that are right in that range. You may want to look at the FP HT68 if you just want to make around 400hp and have a good DD.

Does the fp green turbo work with the stock exhaust manifold?

So can i mount the boost controller in the center console with no problems? Vacuum wise?

There are no tuning shops. I have gotten pretty familiar with the safc2. Which site should i go to to look at the fp ht68?

Which is better internal Wastegate or external?

How can any of you tell this guy what to do when you don't know what he's trying to do? It's your opinion, nothing more. Nobody has any idea what he's doing, why he's doing it or where he's going as he hasn't told us yet. The goals need to be defined first, then we can make statements about what can be done to achieve those goals.

To the OP. There are 100 questions to be answered first and many things you need to know before turning a wrench. It would help if you start by telling us your level of competence with car repair and maintenance etc.

Sorry if this is blunt but I summed up alot of this in the link I posted. After 20 years I've grown weary of " you need xyz part etc" type of comments. This is my opinion. Think of it like this....you tell somebody "I want a new pair of shoes". How could they help you if they don't know what the shoe is supposed to do other than the basics of it goes on your feet. You want a 400hp car....ok what else do you want it to do? If that's all you want it to do then put a 200shot of nitrous on it and call it a day. Oh wait....you want it to last more than 30 seconds? Scratch that, there is more work to do. The forums are happy to help you, myself included, just elaborate please. Thanks.

That's bad ass! I just don't think i want to do the awd conversion. When i take off and switch gears it feels like my front end is trying to roll backwards under the car. What could that be?

And what can i do to fix that problem? Also can someone give me an idea on a complete set up for a fp green turbo. Such as injectors fuel pump rail regulator exhaust manifold o2 housing that sort of thing

Also what kind of oil should i run in this car i just picked up this car about a month ago and i have no idea when the last oil change was so i was wanting to change it and the car doesn't have the manual booklet in it.

You're making a list of parts, not establishing a set of goals. What do you want to the car to DO????

The easiest way to be disappointed is by installing parts before you know what they do or why. It's also the easiest path to a busted car. Take your choice. Unless you already know alot about tuning, engine management, repairs etc, none of which you have established, I can guarantee you won't like the outcome long term because you have not considered the whole picture. Having 400hp alone doesn't make the car fun. It CAN but it isn't a guarantee. What if also it dies all the time, bucks unless you're WOT and is very difficult to change gears because you didn't know how to install or adjust the clutch properly? Know what each part does, how it affects others, have a plan and you're more likely to have a car you will enjoy regardless of what number it puts down. If that number is 400, so be it.

This isn't a slam post. I'm just tired of reading posts just like yours only to be followed up months later by a post that says "I give up."

If you don't know where you're going, any road will get you there.

With how lost you are I would start by finding a well known turbo shop in the Denver area as there is not much going on in Wyoming. From what it sounds like you don't have a clue so the best thing for you is to find a reputable shop to do the work for you. You should definitely get any mechanical issues the car has checked out and fixed before you start upgrading.

I know A LOT about cars i just don't know jack about turbos! I'm done asking questions and ruining your guys precious time i wasjust trying to get some ideas on what would work properly with what but i will figure it out myself seeming that's how i have been raised. Hence the reason i did a V8 swap in a 91 s-10 by myself (dads a dick) but thank you to thepeople that were of some help.

How much you gonna sell your car for in a few months? I need a few parts. :hmm:

There is alot of good advice given. It seems you've chosen to ignore most if not all of it. This forum is about helping people. I think that's what everybody is trying to do. And no do not remove anything from your manifold.

The mods upgrade pages are pretty good. Mistakes, misconceptions etc. If you choose to ignore it again...sorry I can't help you.

So much BS and not enough solid posts.

A DIRECT bolt on is the fp big t28. For a t25 almost anything is an upgrade and goes something like this>.. 13g,14b,big t28,small 16g,big 16g,evo 3,evo x comp wheel,18g,20g in tdo5 or tdo6,billet comp wheel, and then the 68hta.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few but thats the basic idea. BTW Gofer on the 68hta is a freak of nature:)thumb: Corey)..
