Turbo took a sh!t, should I just park the car until I get a new one?

I know this has been covered a million times most likely, but I'm in class and cant search for some reason..it keeps popping up a page saying it wont work.

Anyways, I was running my car a little hard on saturday night, and on my way home was going WOT...about 85mph, and a HUGE puff of smoke came out of the exhaust. The and there were some odd noises...but they stopped when the car cooled off after I got home. The car runs fine, but there is no boost...so I guess the turbo took a huge shit on me. I drove my car to a couple classes today, but thats only 5 miles from my house. Is it alright to drive if I take it easy, or will I be running entirely too rich and whatnot? I will be getting a new turbo within the next few days...but my car was down all last week from a timing belt stripping and taking the exhaust valves...so it sucks to keep getting rides. What would you guys suggest?

I wouldn't be driving that...You don't even know what is wrong...If your diagnosis, no offense, is "turbo took a sh!t" obviously you don't really know that much about it, and thats not a bad thing, but until you know what damage was done, don't drive it...Check it out first, pop the hood, see what may have come loose, or broke off, but I wouldn't drive it around if I were you...Unless u want a whole new car

i would drive it. My turbo oil line was pinched and didnt know i thot i had a boost leak or something else wrong with it and i drove my car for about 2 months and it did fine slow but it drove fine no problems. I drove it to citys 2 hours away and it did fine i would drive it if i were u good luck

You may have gotten lucky that your problem wasn't that bad and you didn't do damage, but don't give that kind of advice...If your car obviously has a problem, why risk doing more damage, have it checked out if you can't do it yourself, but don't be stupid about it

I'd take it apart and find out what's wrong with it first, but you've probably done all the damage that you're going to do.

If you just seized the turbo, then you're probably alright(you'd just need a new one, and a good oil line). If you blew the compressor wheel to bits, then your engine had a crunchy breakfast, and driving it further probably isn't the best thing(there may still be some bits in there, but probably not).

Park it, fix it.

yeah check it out and make sure u dont have chunks of metal just floating around but if everything is ok then u should be ok jsut to drive it around but be safe and check it out

I havent actually checked out the turbo itself...I'll pull the intake off tonight and look, but the car is running pretty good...just slow as balls of course. Compression was fine, plugs look good. Last week I replaced the head and cams, put an MLS headgasket on...and basically just rebuilt the topend completely...and that all seems just fine.
