So i test drove a car today. When i would give it some gas and let off the turbo would make a fluttering noise, which my friend told me it was the turbo surging. which is not good apparently. Anyways, the guy said it didnt do that when the MBC was hooked up, but he took it off. He said something about a nipple being exposed somewhere that the MBC hooks into? Hes gonna give me a call when he isntalls it and see if that fixes the problem. Any thoughts on this?

Sounds like the MBC was tee'ed off the BOV line and when removed/dissconnected the lines were not properly reinstalled. I would run the BOV off of the line designated for it coming off of the intake manifold and run the MBC inline from the jpipe to the wastegate actuator.

This can be fixed my adjusting the blow off valve. The spring is to tight saying you have an aftermarket one..Its hard to help you without knowing your mods..Its called compressor surge and yes its not good for the turbo.. The mbc really has nothing to do with it..Check you vac line on the bov make sure its hooked up..What kind of bov do you have?

That nipple NEEDS a vac line to function properly. Obviously be careful about this car the guy has no idea about the way these cars work..

I think he does i just dont remember what he was saying. I dont know too much, he had a shop do all of his mods. Heres a list of them... FMIC,hi flow fuel pump, lowered 1.5" with springs, brembo slotted/drilled rotors, volt/boost/air fuel gauges,BOV,DSMLink, rear upper spoiler, oil cooler,MBC,17" Giovanni RIMS. stage 2 clutch,Tinted windows, 3"full exhaust Buschur.

Send me a pic and along with his asking price ...I don't want you to pay more than its worth...But yea that's what would cause the compressor surge.

Well...Check all the rotors..how big is huge in the front mount? $3500 does seem alot see if he will take $3000 without that head unit..How does under the hood look. Check for broke studs on the exhaust manifold and check the timing belt along with the valve cover for cracks. Ive seen more modded dsms for less money.

alright.. ya hes not including the HU.. i was already thinking 3000 anyways. He also mentioned all the belts and everything was replaced when the engine was replaced 2000 miles ago, along with the clutch... its only got 2k on it.

Yea I also was told my last dsm had 83k and found out it had 157k on it..So that don't mean crap unless he can provide you with receipts. Its funny how every ad for a car with mods the motor was always rebuilt:confused:. If he just had it rebuilt why would he be selling it so fast 2000 miles really aint a lot I do that In 1 month. I would do a compression test if possible that will prove a rebuilt. Over all the car does look pretty good in the pics. Is that the check engine light on on the dash? Looks like the oil pressure gauge doesn't work either..Find out why!!

no sure about hte oil pressure... check engine light wasnt on when i went. I am doing a compression test next time, when the engine is cold. m going to meet him at his house instead of him driving to meet me.

I asked him about the oil pressure gauge. He said the dummy light works but the gauge doesnt. He said its something with the sending units being differe.nt.

Ok is there an aftermarket oil pressure gauge? That would explain it..Also everything else looks good with the car and I say go for it...One more thing please try to use proper punctuation and capitalization and use spell check there big on that on this site..Thanks
