Looking for a place local to port my turbo and repair it. Its a big 16G the wastegate has a good number of cracks in it which I want to get welded. And there is a bolt broken in one of the top holes.

It was like this when I bought it and it runs fine. On my way back from Iraq just want to get these small flaws fixed before returning home.

I attempted to port it myself but got minimal porting done want to get it done professionally looking for some recomendations on this.

Thank you,
Josh

You may be better off just replacing the turbine housing if it is cracked since cast iron is a pita to weld. Many places wont even try to weld it since it has to be heated, then welded, then hit with a hammer then cooled.

As for the porting, I just ported my manifold and it was a very simple process. What were you using?

Alright I apreciate it. What am I looking for, for the turbine housing? Are they hard to find?

For the porting used a carbide bit with air tools. Took forever got a bit done.

Thanks

Weird I ported out mine with a dremel and some grinding stones that come with that dremel package thing for like 12 bucks and it took me about 2 hours start to mirror polished finish.

Well it is a mitsu style turbo, so you are going to have to take 2 wrenches and grab the nuts on the end of the shaft (that sounds so wrong) and twist them apart. The turbos internal parts will come out then, and in your hands will be the turbine housing. You are going to look for one of those I will see if I can get you an ebay link, I see housing around all the time. Bad part is the turbo will be unbalanced, and you would need to send it out to get balanced. The place that balances it can usually port it aswell so you will be good both ways.
