So i found my leak. I thought originally it was leaking from the oil return line on the turbo, but on closer inspection its actually leaking from the oil supply line on the turbo, and leaking all over the hot side which is where im getting my smell from and noticing burning oil. Now my question is, im going to be taking the line off to see if its simply missing a crush washer or if the threads are jacked up, but my question is, If i disconnect the oil supply line, is it under pressure? I'm wondering if i need to drain the oil from the engine or weather i can get by with just pulling it and leaving a drip pan under the car? ideas?

hmm. good stuff bud thanks for the quick replied. I actually just had someone pm me about a 20g turbo they are selling, so i may just end up replacing the ebay 16g and being done with it.

replacing the turbo oil lines wont solve the gouging in the turbo housing man..that would most likely need to be rebuilt with a new housing, or at least some machining.

and no need to be like that man, LOL. This is my first DSM as well as my first turbo car. Still learning how everything works and what can be used to fix it :)

It's not like that bro..We have supporting vendors for a reason.

I upgraded my oil feed years ago..It has made a couple turbo changes a breeze. Now I also have a quick disconnect oil drain.Thats was a genious purchase as well.

I had an ebay turbo once..It's now a paper weight, and gf annoyer.

I hear ya, thats half of buying a used dsm. I didnt realize it was an ebay job until i stripped off the intake, radiator fan shroud and actually examined it. Surprisingly there is no front to back shaft play, so im thankful for that. But unfortunately i'm still trying to figure out what is in there now, and what is supposed to be there stock LOL. But I still appreciate your help, and i'll look into replacing the feed and return lines when i get to the new turbo install.

yea, im in the process of acquiring a 20g or 50 trim to replace this eBay piece of shit with. I figure that's where my leak it coming from, those gouges look pretty damn deep. I suppose i'll have to deal with them for now until i can get a viable replacement.

Replace it with a SS line, you will never want to go back
