Turbo Not Building Boost

I'm doing the break-in on my 420a build and decided to start boosting yesterday. Only problem, turbo is not building boost. It spools, but watching the boost gauage it goes to 0 and doesn't go over. MSnS logged it hitting ~1.1psi at one point, but that was it.

The BOV (1G) is not leaking as it worked perfectly fine on my last setup.
I don't have a MBC hooked up yet. Just have the line going from the compressor to the WG (Tial 38mm).
Only thing I did to the WG was pulled the spring last weekend to do some WOT runs with no boost. Put the spring back in and now not getting boost. It's the 7.25 spring.

I rebuilt the turbo and this is the first time using it. Had a small t3 on my last setup and not seeing any difference.
What am I missing? What should I be looking for?

is the waste gate working. or is it stuck open

x2 on wastegate failure...

or an exhaust leak. Check around the manifold, turbo and feel for air during idle..

WG is closed for sure. It's externally dumped you so you know when it's open/closed.

What about any leaks around the manifold, or a massive boost leak for that matter.

+2 on the boost leak. Have you done a boost leak test yet

Was late last night when went out and now there's quite a bit of snow so not going to happen for awhile.

I know I have a little exhaust leak right before the turbo but my last setup, one of the studs fell out of the head and had a huge leak and still built boost no problems.

I was looking at the one coupler right at the FMIC (going in) and it looks like it's not full on all the way. That may have something to do with it.

I remember buying a turbo from Ebay couple years ago(a New Evo 3 16G lookalike) and after I took off my damaged Genuine E3 16G and put that on it it wouldn't build any boost. I tried a another E3 16G and it boosted fine(still very strange). So the point is I hope u rebuilt that turbo properly yet I doubt that is your problem. Check if u damaged the diaphragm in the wastegate in the assembling process or u have a boost leak(check intake manifold, throttle screw, intercooler, couplers etc...).

I'm pretty confident I rebuilt the turbo fine. It was my first one, but I made sure to pay much attention to all the details and everything. I want to cancel out all the other options before I pull the turbo.

I guess I'll take it back to the garage and pull all the IC piping and check all those along with the WG. I got the parts list for the boost leak tester but can't do that until I make it back to the garage (no compressor at home). Probably just good to have for future reference anyways.
