Turbo leaking exhaust fumes from center section...

Hello,
When boosting, I heard a really bad exhaust leak. After removing the turbo from the car i noticed the center section has black soot all around the band clamp. Is there a gasket or something that keeps the exhaust from blowing out of the band clamp? The turbo is a Hanh Super20g... which is a Mitsu Heavy Inds. turbo.

no theres no gasket that i know of... is the clamp loose? and inspect it and see why it leaked... maybe it didnt seat properly or it got loose

It's a v-band connection- there is no gasket.

The way a v-band works is simple...the tighter it is, the better it seals.
