so ive recently partly rebuilt my motor... precison 58/57 bb turbo, and i have all supporting mods. when i went to the dyno my clutch was slipping and didnt make great numbers, ntm they think my cat is kinda clogged. i think im goin with a act 2600 street disk and that should be fine, and also just got my car smogged so i thought about building a test pipe. going up hills or normal acceleration my car has some trouble boosting, and sometimes feels sluggish, do you think a test pipe will make my spool up that much better?

A restrictive cat is a lot of backpressure so its always going to help but I would hope they didnt try to finish the tune on a slipping clutch since its not accurate. Meaning the tune is still probably not ideal to faster spool up.

Youre also running a pretty decent sized turbo that is laggy under normal driving conditions.

As stated above if they finished the tune on a slipping clutch they need to be smacked. It could be the tune. When they were tuning it did it seem to have turbo lag at all? That would be a good question to ask them. As far as the test pipe goes that wont be a bad idea at all. A 3 inch cat that i see in your profile i dont see how that beast is clogged though. Id get a new tune done then try it out and see what happens. thats just my .02

ANy pre turbo exhaust leaks? I had a cracked manifold and my 16g was only spooling 8 lbs by 3500 rpm. Maybe a leaky bov as well

Like said above... cat can do that if its clogged, remove it... 3" free direct exhaust is the best!!!

But... you can check your intercooler piping too... I see lag in my car suddenly... and I thing that the turbo gone... cheap thing... but when I see... a clamp of a silicone coupler opened (bad quality) and start a little very little leak... enought to lag from 2500 to 4500rpm... I put T-Bolt clamps and problem gone! Spool faster again

they did not finish the tune on the slipping clutch, so i know there is still room for improvement. The cat it has is a 3in, but it was cheap. But there are no leaks and intercooler couplers are tightened down. Im looking forward to this straight pipe setup and think it will help a lot, maybe just get the clutch over with, make a test pipe, then back for another tune. Hopefully it will work out in the end.
