Turbo ECU in NA 2G

Hey Guys,

I searched over the forum to see if someone had the same problem i did but wasn't able to find anything concrete.

I have a 1995 Eclipse GST but right now it's Naturally Aspirated and the ECU and everything else is still for the Turbo. It smells like Gasoline a lot when i take it out for a drive; i'm assuming this would be because the ECU is for Turbo.

I have a TD05 14b Turbo at home and it's manifold but the Turbo has play shaft.

I'm considering options:

1)Would a Emanage Blue or SAFC help me control the amount of fuel.
2)Aftermarket Fuel Pressure Regulator.

What do you guys think?

Why don't you just pay 100 bucks for a used t25, manifold and o2 housing? That is cheaper than a piggyback and wideband o2 sensor. Also it will be rich while accelerating, but it shouldn't reek of gas. I would verify that you don't have any fuel leaks.

Also, for 70 bucks i could buy a rebuild kit, but i'm told it's not worth it:

The ecu doesn't care if the engine has a turbo or not, it should run exactly the same as it did before. It's smelling of gas because there is a mechanical issue of some sort. Dead O2? Leaky fuel line? Intake piping leak?

I have a OBD II Scanner but i didn't find the plug on the car. I know it's supposed to be under the Steering Wheel area but i couldn't locate it. Wil have to dig deeper.

OBD2 port is going to be under steering wheel around your right knee right after plastic cover. I have a 98 that's wow here mine is. I believe a 95 is the same.

As for the turbo, if you need a t25 I got one. Don't have an extra o2 housing though sorry. PM Me if you want. I'll cut a deal, got a 14b and 16g not for grabs yet, maybe after I rebuild them.

And the fuel smell, sounds like to me a fuel leak somewhere. I had mine at the fuel filter under the battery, could smell fuel all the time. Do you see wet spots anywhere around fuel lines. Time to dig around and look.
