hi i just had a view questions regarding the gsx turbo ecu for 98. i have both a 98 gsx and a 97 spyder well the gsx is now a parts car and the spyder is the new host. last night i installed the turbo ecu and did the pump rewire mod which itself was very simple. i was just curious i'm waiting on my new turbo back exhaust and was wondering if there are any hp diffrences with my car running a turbo ecu verses stock?. i noticed last night the revs come much easier for the 4g64 since the turbo ecu was installed, so i figure it must have gave me a few more ponies just from the ecu swap. i was figuring with the more agreessive fuel maps and timing it might be helpful for those running na cars to go with a better tuned ecu.
any thoughts on this?

The spyder being a GS 2.4L, its ECU should have fuel and timing mapping that is more safely dialed in under vacuum since it never will see the upper half of the fuel or timing map that is on the turbo ECU.

The reason it feels quicker is that since the turbo DSM has a lower CR, it requires more timing advance to reach the safe limit. The higher CR on the non-turbo will make more N/A power on that timing map, but may not like the additional timing for very long, I hope you transferred the knock sensor over to the spyder along with the turbo ECU. Sounds like you might have something here, but install the knock sensor and datalog the crap out of it for a little while. Also, since the turbo ECU is a 98, it might be a plastic cased flashable unit, and if you see it's too much timing on the logs you could adjust it appropriately.

i'll log it fir a week or so. it is a black case ecu. not only is the knock sensored hooked up but im running a turbo tb with iac hooked up and running properly!!!
