The time has come to buy another turbo. I sold the red. The car wont move for another 6+ months. But Im getting all the more expensive items out of the way. I'd like 400whp on pump gas+ water injection. Im debating between a 3431 RLE dual bb or a 6031 RLE dual bb. Ive always been a " go big or go home " type of person. Ive found a few threads that people have been using the 6031 and been hitting full boost in mid 4's. I have a friend who hits full boost on a 3431 in the upper 3's on his gs-t, kind of pointless but hey, it pulls nice. Mod list will look like this. Shouldnt be to long until all this is in place, just need to locate a freaking ecu again LOL

I really just want to step up to the 60-1 bb. But I just cant decide. SBR states the 3431 has gone 11.20's @ 129. On a stock or built motor? Im sure the 60-1 packs a huge ####ing punch, but off the line is still a key element to me, I love top end just as much as I love getting outta the whole like a bat out of hell. Anyone have any experience with either of these turbos?

You got a badass setup already and any turbo is gonna make yourself a mean car. If you want something streetable but something you can take to the track and dominate with id go with the GT35R. Its ball-bearing and can put you 600+whp without a problem. Its top of the line and ive seen it streeted by many. It will wheel you well over 400whp on pump im sure.

Yea the 60-1 does pack a punch. I was debatting on it when i was in the market for an upgrade. Was lookin at the T4/60-1. On 15-16lbs pump gas with some cams it would throw down around 380-400whp.

IMO they are all good, GT35R, T4/60-1, T3/60-1, T3/T67, T4/T67

BTW, get rid of that damn turbo xs manual BC, get a Greddy Profec-B. Trust me you WILL NOT be disappointed.

I think you should keep the MBC, and go with a GT3076 (a.k.a. GT30R). It will spool quicker than any turbo you listed, similar to the 3431. As an added bonus, it can support around 550whp. Go big or go home is a good phrase for snowboarding, but for turbos, you should get what you need.

If you want to go big, just get a Turbonetics Thumper... T-106... It can support 2200 hp.

If you want it to be streetable, get what you need.

Brute hit it on the head, I believe that you should get a GT30R as well. Spool wont be an issue near as bad as a 60-1. If you have the money I wouldn't think twice about switching to a full garret setup.

Im not familiar with full garrett setups at all. Do we use out stock o2 housing? or how is the exhast fitted? Ive always used mitsu flanged turbos.

Full Garrett setups need a T3 or T4 flanged manifold, different O2 (5 bolt or 4 bolt) and a downpipe to fit the new O2 housing. Most if not all these turbos should be/need to be ran on an external, but most DSM T3 manifolds that I've seen all have an external wastegate port.

The Turbonetics manifold is T3 flanged and also has a flange ready to accept a Tial 38mm (or similar flanged) external wastegates.

And for the o2 housing, depending on what turbo you get and with what options, you'll need a Garrett 4-bolt or Ford 5-bolt.

You can buy all these flanges at Road Race Engineering, then just have your local exhaust shop make you an o2 housing and a dump tube (recirculated or not) for the external wastegate. Good luck!

Ive seen a " local " talon with a 35r on stock motor. He went 126 mph and still scooted off the line. Hmm so Ill need a 4 or 5 bolt flange, 1 gasket , 1 o2 bung, and then the shop will have to connect my exhuast to this one. Should be easy. My exhaust right now is all 1 piece. Chop and weld. 30r looks might fine right now :)

People complain about the lag on a 60-1 but I happen to love mine and after driving it for a while I don't even notice it. I hit full boost by 4000-4200 and hold rock steady until redline. I'm running a full garret, standard bearing PTE GT3255E. I have plenty of power for driving around town too without hitting boost at all. Without boost it still gets around better in town than my T-25 did.
