Hey wassup guys so i made a list for for my 96 GS which I'll be turboing and converting to manual. :D :hellyeah: :rocks:

First off don't say buy a GS-T or GSX because i know what i want to do and I'm gonna do it.

Second of all I'm not a noob to repairing/Building cars so I'm going to be doing all of the work myself except for the tuning.

I'm just posting this up to see what you guys think and if I'm missing something.

The car for now is my DD. I do want to keep it as my DD after i do all the work to it but if anything I'll buy another DD and have this as my weekend warrior.
I want my goal to be from 300-400hp to the wheels.

Engine: Stage 2 crate engine from thedsmgraveyard.com

Ignition: MSD coil pack, MSD ignition wires, NGK spark plugs (Any recommendations on what spark plug? 1 step colder 2 step colder etc)

Turbo: Treadstone turbo kit (I'm going to weld the wastegate dump tube so it recirculates and also weld a 3" Flange so it can bolt up to a high flow cat and that to a GS-T catback exhaust

Tranny: Used 420a manual tranny with shifter, shifter cables, master cylinder, slave cylinder and lines, LSD, Flywheel and clutch (Any recommendations for the flywheel and clutch?)

Brakes: GSX Calipers, Rotors and pads. GSX brake master cylinder (Will this fit on my GS?)

Suspension: Adjustable Coilover suspension, Prothane bushings, And front and rear camber kits, Also aftermarket sway bars.

Electrical: Relocate battery to the trunk, Megasquirt EMS kit, Glowshift Gauges; Boost, oil pressure, and water temp and a aem wideband 02

Fuel system: Ok now for this i need help i know i can buy injectors and a fuel pump from hahnracecraft but i want to do something about the restrictive fuel lines any suggestions?

Also will i be fine with the stock axles? I don't liking launching FWD cars from a stop so i think i should be ok but any recommendations on that also would be awesome.

The list i made adds up to about 10grand (I also added a grand for misc stuff) And probably another grand or two for tuning. This project is probably going to take about 1-2 years for me of saving up money for everything.

Thanks for your time for reading this and thanks for any info or recommendations in advance....:hellyeah:

I also forgot to mention i already have wheels and tires; 18x7.5 inch motegi ff7's wrapped in all season sumitomo's

I agree with Josh - you seem to pretty much have it covered.

For clutch, I (and many others) will recommend South Bend Clutch.

For the transmission swap, don't forget the brake pedal and clutch pedal assembly.

For brakes, yes all the GSX parts will swap right over. Don't forget to pick up the caliper mounting bracket also; the GSX caliper won't fit in the GS/GS-T bracket.

For fuel, get a high flow pump, (Walbro 255 and Aeromotive 340 are high flow in-tank pumps) some big injectors (use an injector calculator to find minimum size for your goals) and an AFPR. The factory fuel lines are sufficient for most guys.

Launching can destroy axles. Most guys at moderate power levels don't have many axle issues until they start launching. MB breaks them at 200HP NA, but on slicks and on a track. IMO, I'd leave them be until/unless you have a problem breaking them.

Thanks a lot for the input guys. I'm also probably gonna start a blog and try to make some how-to guides while doing this project to help some people out.

The stock ignition system is good untill around the 450whp range. Then most people seem to start blowing out the spark, even with the MSD coil. The screamin demon coil did a little better.

I would recommend South Bend Clutches if you want a really really good clutch.

Or if you are thinking of something like an ACT 2600 (if they even make those for a 420a tranny). I would check ebay for XTD Clutches.

I would say the XTD Clutches are just as good as act clutches, and cheaper. I know for the dsms you can even get a clutch/flywheel combo for about the same price as a act 2600 setup. This probably the only ebay part I would ever swear buy. I have personally ridden in/driven/ seen a 1g AWD Dynoed to 401 AWHP with one of the stage 4 clutches.
