I have been looking alot into the BEP 50 trim, just was wondering if anyone that runs one would give me some information that I cant seen to find. First off I want to know whether this has a garrett CHRA and if the what if any would be the difference between there 50 trim to the 57 trim, because they are about the same price. Also I run my oil off the filter housing unrestricted as claim to the last 50 that was made into a paper wieght, should it be restricted if I get one of these two turbos. I have all supporting mods to run such a turbo as seen in my profile. The reasoning for these turbos is because I really dont have much more than 700 to spend, not to metion all the knick knacks I still have to buy. Any info would be great.

Holset has some good turbos Im sure you know but 50 or 57 (If you must have a BEP) is all up to you. Holsets are cheap. The dodge guys think that the hx35 is crap and to them it is but us we like. Hope you are pleased with whatever you get and look into spool times and your overall goals to make your choice.

The 50-trim will spool the same and flow about 4-6lb/min more air. It's a no brainer to get a 50-trim.

With regard to the oile feed, no one can answer your question because you nore we know your oil pressure at the locations you can feed your turbo. You need to know if your setup and it's various locations allow the proper requirements for oil pressure tot he turbo. This turbo is not oem. Any NON oem turbo needs a gauge initially to determine if your setup offers proper oil flow. Sirius motors vary too wildly and too frequently not to check. You should have a fuel pressure gauge that can be easily adapted to an oil pressure gauge.

BTW, I like the hx35, of course :). Will spool a bit faster, flow more air, and can be had for less money, costs the same to install.

The holset cost the same. What about reliability with the turbos mentioned. I want a nice reliable streetable turbo that can lay down 4 to 450 hp. I was looking like I said for a turbo that could be had for 700 or so and bep seemed like the choice. Not much trashing of these turbos like the sbr g series turbo which I was intially looking into. I like the ss turbine housing they have but its not a nessesity. I dont know the oil pressure feeding the turbo but like I said the seals on the old turbo were shot. Do the bep use a garrett CHRA does anyone know.

The holset costs less.

You mention reliabilty. So I would shy away from BEP garrett turbos. The BEP BW turbos are more reliable. The hx35 from a diesel even with a lot of miles is the the most reliable. . . The reliability is the same between the turbos you've mentioned. They are the same thing except for a slightly different compressor wheel. The BW and Holset and MHI internals are much better.

Do the holset turbos have dsm flange. I am keeping the the mitsu flanged turbo because of the fp mani and the punishment o2 housing. I have read alot of stuff about alot of turbos that suit what I am looking for and the BEP 50 trim seemed to have the most positive things said about it at least realiability wise.

I would go with the hx35 also. They are a cheap turbo and can get upwards of 500+ hp. It spools pretty damn quick too for the size
