ok i have a problem and maybe you guys can help me out i was looking at the turbo options and narowd down the choices to 2 turbos the garret t3/t4 turbo or the big 16g turbo what do you guys think i should go with? and here is the list of parts that i will get so i hopefully dont blow my car up blow thru set up, aem fuel rail with 550 injecters, upgraded exhaust manifold(tubeular), and the apropriate gauges.thanks guys.

depends on what you want. from what i have got from everything a evo 3 big 16 is a really good turbo for all around uses. and garret t3/t4 will give you higher boost if you mod right and put a lot more work/money in it.

I would make sure you get all your maintenance done first. Then make sure you have proper supporting mods. You'll probably max out those 550's pretty fast, I would atleast go with evo 560's(flows more like 580's). Also atleast re-wire your fuel pump, I myself went with the evo9 fuel pump. Also logger and safc or dsmlink for fuel management, just some kind of fuel management.

16g would definitely be a cheaper setup, with the t3/t4 you would need a properly flanged exhaust manifold and probably o2 housing.

What is your goal for the car as in HP, daily driver and others?
Well with a MHI turbo you will need an install kit but not have to worry about an external wastegate, downpipe some other parts!

just my $.02

Turbo

I would start out with an Evo16g or the Big16g instead of jupming directly to the t3/t4. A properly supported and tuned Evo16g or Big16g will surpass a half ass'ed t3/t4. Depending on your budget an Evo16g would be our best bet and purchase all the supporting mods necessary to make it as strong as possible. Later on you can upgrade to a t3/t4 setup much easier.

Evo 3 16G, or, if looking for more, maybe something such as a one of the bullseye bolt-on turbos.

Do you want full mods to get the most out of whatever turbo you get, or just a big turbo to make power? I think an Evo 3 16G with E85 tune, full supporting mods, cams, higher compression, and intake manifold would be amazing. Easily 400+awhp, probably 450+ on a dynojet.

My advice is to make the most of what you have; move up when you can't go any further on what you have. Good tuning and supporting mods goes a long ways. It would be MUCH more fun to drive a car that is making the most of a smaller turbo, than using 1/2 of what a bigger turbo is capable of.
